Are the morley switchless wahs made with true bypass circutry? If not, what brands are, I need a new wah pedal.

I'd say no, I have a Bad Horsie and Little Alligator volume pedal and I hate them both with a passion, especially the volume pedal. My Crybaby wah is true bypass and sounds incredible as well.

I find I lose some high end (very little) when I have my guitar through my crybaby....but that could also be the cause of the 30ft of cable.

Morley's are not true bypass. They have a buffer circuit that is on all the time, even when the wah function is not on. The buffer helps preserve your signal through long cable runs or chains of pedals. Most Crybaby's are not true bypass either, and they do not have a good buffer circuit, but some of them can be modified to true bypass. When off, they are known as one of the worst tone suckers around. A lot of guys on this forum really like Vox wahs modded by Statdeluxer. To get true bypass in a wah you usually have to go boutique (Fulltone, Budda etc.) or have an older one modified.

It isn't true bypass but it is a good wah (Bad Horsie)... I love not having to screw with turning it on/off like on a Crybaby. I used to take the on/off switch out of the crybaby and mount it beside the pedal in a custom bracket. With the Morley you step on it and you are wah-ing like a mother... I have been using mine since '98 or '99 I guess... I bought it when they first came out. I don't notice a huge change in tone when the wah is off. The newer buffered pedals are MUCH better than the old stuff. I was using a Crybaby in the mid-80s and found it really changed my tone when the wah was off. I'll probably eventually go with a Fulltone Cyde when I get a little extra cash but I have no issue with the Bad Horsie.
