and hopefully stratdeluxer will answer my question:biglaugh:

thanksXSSIVE said:i use a 25w weller with a fine tip...it's actually the same iron you can order through the buildyourownclone site (here all the way on the bottom http://www.buildyourownclone.com/supplies.html) i got mine at home depot i think, it was a while ago. i've only used a 25w and a 40w and the 40w was too damn hot and would kill pots if you held it on too long, the 25w seems perfect to me, never had a problem with it.

Rid said:A digital delay voiced to have the same high end roll off that gave
vintage analog delays their warm tone. The expensive BBD (bucket
brigade delay) chips they used were not the secret...it was their high
frequency filter. This filter rolls off a little high end with each repeat
and creates the atmospheric effect of each repeat travelling farther
and farther away that most digital delays were unable to recreate.
Digital's only obvious advantage is longer delay times. With
approximately 600ms the DD-80 digital delay kit has nearly twice as
much delay time as most vintage analog delays. It can be easily
modified for twice as much delay time for more than 1 second, but
delay times over 600ms will have a very "lo-fi" quality to them. And
the kit comes with the part for the mod.
And, yes...this delay can self oscillate and yes it is true bypass.
Ah and he knows his tuff too
Guys this is a little goldmine for yer here!

XSSIVE said:i with you man...i'm going to build a few in the future. the sceamer rocks! he also gives you extra parts for mods which no big company will do.
i just tried the texas instruments OP amp in place of the JRC that's standard in a tube screamer (he gives you both). holy crap the TI chip made this pedal even more of an animal...from a nice push on a clean channel to enough balls for some ac/dc with no problem still on a clean channel. it can be smooth and thick or with the tone knob twisted a bit more to the right, snappy and agressive. very cool sounds from this pedal on it's own using a clean amp channel or through a slightly gritty channel for even more balls. add it infront of a high gain channel and roll down the drive and up the level then tweek the tone and holy crap, hold on to your pants b/c notes just scream off the fretboard!! i'm very happy with the pedal...even more now with the TI chip and the purple LED lol.
