beautiful les paul on the bay

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

I dunno. I would have sniped the wine red Custom Shop Les Paul Custom that went through this weekend as my idea of a Les Paul.

I think this just isn't subtle enough. It's like a babe with the boobs hanging out too much.

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

What a deal. Let me go dig up a mason jar out of the backyard. This sh*t is getting ridiculous.

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

The top looks nice except for those darker spots running perpendicular to the flame, I believe they're called mineral streaks? Either way I'm sure theres a lot of nicer flame tops out there on guitars that cost over $4k

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

Nice but, cough....ripoff.....cough..cough.

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

It's nice alright but but 4.700$ for that hackjob of a solder and a "zepra" pickup ain't it on the crazily expensive side?

What's with ebay lately? Aren't they showing how many bids auctions have anymore?

I doubt that he'll get what he's asking.

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

beautiful guitar but for close to $5k its a little steep

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

flames are too thin for me, i like bigger/wider flames like my les paul has...go figure lol.

I love the lighter tinted finishes like that.. I just can't get into flame tops anymore.. I've spent too much time playing cheap gear that I prefer it now a days :)

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

I like Les Pauls.. But bursts arent my thing. A Les Paul looks good in one color: black.

Am I sick?

Black's good. But you might need some Tums for not liking sunbursts.

I want a Goldtop actually. I think I'll always regret not buying a Goldtop, instead of a sunburst in the mid '80s. Les Pauls were a lot easier to buy back then!

NOW if I wanted to get a Goldtop, it's have to be a Non-Gibson. Like an Edwards, Epi, Agile... or whatever.

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

Unlike me, most of you don't have the chops to play a guitar like that and not be accused of trying to hide you mediocre musicality behind the aesthetics of the instrument....thus only I may posess that guitar and get any respect.

I even love those little dark verticle marks going against the flame. That thing is just awesome looking.

And the best thing I could do would be to hang it and never play a note. Lord knows it's pretty enough just to look at....

Re: beautiful les paul on the bay

Wow... 4700? That guy's smoking something really good ;) A LP Standard with a nice flame paintjob, if it's in mint condition, they're lucky if it's going to get $2500.

I mean, jeez, if you can pick up a custom shop Les Paul for half of what this guy is trying for his Standard, why even bother? I doubt most people care that the covers were taken off and the caps were changed, it's still not worth a fraction of what he's asking for.
