Best cables?

So what brand of cables do you guys think are best for guitar and speaker? I just got done reading that Monster cables are garbage. Never used them myself. Anyone have input?

I was thinking of going with Mogami cables, but I can't find any speaker cables. I've only found their instrument cables.

I've been using a Bayou Cables - Canare/Neutrik cable for a few years now and it's built well and sounds great. It seems to have a broad flat frequency response with plenty of high end sparkle. But they all depend somewhat on the pups and wiring used in the guitar. Impedance and all that...

They can also make you just about any guitar or speaker cable you want, and I've never seen better soldering anywhere.

I've had good luck with Mogami, George L and Planet Waves. As to which one is "Best", who knows.

Think I'm gonna go with a Fulltone Gold Standard guitar cable. Now, what about speaker cables?

I've got, tried and own almost everything.... lol
I'm using Vovox now, it's the perfect guitar cable in my eyes.

It's tough, light and flexible and sounds flat to my ears, which means I get my tone from my guitar and amp !

I've got most cables, so can give my opinion on any.

The real expert is Mark at Lava cable though..he's my cable pusher !! LOL

Ask him !!

They custom make each speaker/guitar/mic lead to your spec (with choice of cable identifier rings, straight/angled/muted jacks etc) with Neutrik Jacks and Van Damme or Klotz cable.

They're not overly expensive compared to alot of stuff and they sound great.

i have monster 500 jazz and studio 1000 cables and they are fine. i also use george l's

never liked mogami, the ones i tried (instrument) sounded thin

Lava Man is a member here- shoot him a PM- even if you don't buy anything from him, I'm sure he'd be happy to tell you what makes a "good" cable.

i like lavaman's canare cable ... has held up very well and great tone ... very happy with his solderless cables for pedalboard jumpers, though pricey

dunno about amp-> speaker cable .... i used store brand and it was fine

I use George L's. I think they're the best cables I've ever used. My tone has never been better. No pops, no crackles, no loss of treble. I dig 'em. I bought a couple of spools and a whole bunch of ends and I can make 'em any length I need.

Perfect.

I say DiMarzio instrument cables - they sound very good imo. And they're not that expensive compared to some cables.
