Those are great metalhead choices. In fact, those are two metal "must haves" IMO. You might look into a couple of other staples:
Iron Maiden: Number of the Beast
Judas Priest: Screamin' for Vengeance
Ozzy: Blizzard of Oz
Dio: Holy Diver

Definitely metallica master of puppets and ride the lightning, and kill em all actually thats the best in my opinion but a lot of people like master of puppets better

My old band opened for them several times...
Good luck finding "Open to the puplic" It's been out of print for years.
My cassettes were wearing out so I copied them too CD.

Master of Puppets is good, but Ride the Lightning is king (IMO).
Best Megadeth album is Peace Sells. RIP is awesome, but you can't beat the classics.

My friends and I still maintain that Spread Eagle is one of the best metal bands that never broke big. Their guitarist is simply phenomenal. Great songwriting and he incorporates anything from blues influences to out and out shredding.
How were they live? We always wondered if the singer could pull his own weight out of the studio.

Master of Puppets is the quintessential Metal album ever for me. A must own for anyone into that style. Everything else listed is awesome too, though I'm not sure Van Halen and Cream qualify as metal.
I'm glad to see Mindcrime on this thread. That is probably the most worn out disk of my youth...The Wall and 2112 are up there too...no wonder I was such a weirdo in High School!
