Thats what I use. For the price it's hard to beat in a live playing situation.Lee_L said:I kinda like the TU-2 from Boss, it's pretty accurate, it's a stompbox, and it acts as a power supply for all my other pedals. I think it's like $90 or so.
Yep, yep, yep.Lee_L said:I kinda like the TU-2 from Boss, it's pretty accurate, it's a stompbox, and it acts as a power supply for all my other pedals. I think it's like $90 or so.
MattPete said:I bought a Korg DT-7 last year. After chasing an intonation problem, I bought a Peterson VS2. The Peterson is so much more accurate, so much easier to use, and has an infintely better display than the Korg. Today, I can't imagine trying to intonate or tune a guitar with a tuner less accurate than the Peterson. The Peterson was money well spent -- the Korg was money wasted.
You'll want to get a Peterson eventually. Instead of wasting your money on a cheap tuner you'll eventually throw away and replace with the Peterson, get the Peterson instead (assuming you can afford it).

With a different tuner it sounds like doped up Bob Dylan. I would do your self a favor and save up, sell blood, sell other bodily fluids, organs, or your left nut for this tuner, You will not be dissapointed.
Lewguitar said:Well I'm just going to mention the Korg CA-30 one more time. For $20 it's a great tuner and will do everything I need a tuner to do. My ears can do the rest!Lew
Lewguitar said:Oh come on! If you have to go through that much grief just to get your guitar in tune I have to wonder if you can really hear if it's in tune in the first place! I mean you CAN tune your guitars with your EARS....right?
Just kiddding, BTW...
But seriously...do you guys REALLY have to spend that kind of money to get your guitars in tune??? Seems kinda silly to me.
The world got by without electronic tuners for what? Several billion years?
:laugh2:

Just seems like a lot of money to spend when "perfectly in tune" is usually "out of tune" in terms of tempered tuning and how we hear things. Most guys get "perfectly in tune" with a tuner and then play a few chords and retune by ear anyway.
Steve Morse has a cool way of doing it that I like alot too. He gets his "A" string perfectly in tune and then plays an "A" on the other five strings and tunes them to his open "A" string.
It's a good method!
I used my harmonicas or keyboard to tune to for many years, so I have a pretty good ear.
These days, I can usually sing EBGDAE or hear the notes in my head good enough to get in tune without a tuner.
