Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

don't know when this line has fit any better than now?!?!?!

NEW STUFF ROCKS!!! :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

The headstock is the thorn in the side for me.

If it wasn't for that, the guitar would be simply amazing!

Great instrument though, and CONGRATS!

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Thanks a lot guys!
This thing has been on rivalry with my Telecaster. I play them about 50/50 of the time. I'm gonna put my strat through a makeover with a new nut, a fretdress and a pro setup.

If they made a true P90 guitar, I'd already own it. No soapbar guitars from Heritage for some reason. Not sure why.
I think you can custom order pretty much anything you want from Jay. You can even get something like P-90 - Hum - P-90. They also offer all kinds of custom switching options.

Oh yeah, I sold my Heritage 535 tonight. There's this little voice in my head telling me to buy a 56 Reissue Les Paul goldtop. I did an A/B/C comparison of my three most expensive guitars. A - the 58RI Lester was a gift from the wife. Thank goodness it's the best of the three, cuz I could never sell it. B was the PRS McCarty. C was the Heritage. The Heritage has the slimmest neck of the three and it just plain lost. Not even close to the other two.
It's kinda weird comparing a 535 to a PRS with a solid rosewood neck though. As far as I remember yours was a goldtop with a bigsby on it. I'm not a fan of the bigsby to tell you the truth. Did you go with a standard Heritage neck?

My neck is not exactly slim. It's in between the 50s and the 60s. About the same as my modern c-shape strat, just much lower action, 24 3/4, etc... I got it because I play a LOT of thumb chords, and I would still like to be able to play fast on it.

Do you have pictures of your 56RI Lester? I've never seen a lester before.

Looks awesome.. I've always loved the Heritage stuff.

The ONLY thing I would do differently is have the top color-matched a little closer, so one isn't darker than the other. Just my $0.02.

It's kinda weird. Because the flame is not prominent at all, you see it differently from different angles and light. It's actually pretty even. I'm gonna get a crazy zebra top next - just for the wack of it, or an ocean top like scott's McCarty.

That guitar makes me sport a vedy large woody! Still not too sure about the headstock but for that price I could sure learn to like it. Clips are in order. :32:

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Beautiful guitar. Can you get a full body shot? From top to bottom?

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

I like the pearloid pickguard, very uniqe for an LP

To see the headstock in person gives it more charm...It'll grow on ya. (....I like Gibson's headstock better, myself)

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Thanks for the compliments guys.

I took some full body shots by proxy's request.

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Yumm, I can see you already decided to part with the pickguard?

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

That's friggin' beautiful. :D

I hope it makes you happy like my 535 does for me! Someday, I've got to put a treble bypass on the volume pots and check the pot values... I just lose too much high end when the volume is rolled down. At least you won't have to f- with f-holes if you ever want to mod the electronics ;)

Can't understand the long wait though.

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Thanks guys
Lol thanks fellas.
Yes, proxy, the pickguard is gone.
Once I took it off, it ain't coming back on - I don't know why. It's like it's meant to be this way...

Fresh,
LoL !! That's why they are called the "F" holes hahaha !!!
Seriously good luck on tweaking the pots through the f holes.

And yes I absolutely love the LP. Its my main band practice axe.
Check out what I did to the back already! (So much for the resale value)
She's certainly a playa though!! The neck pickup rules for jazz!!

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Thanks Rain bro.

Wanna see the full size?

Wait. Hold on to something.

You know the reason I did this.
I had a bad Polio disease in 1992. My hands shake so much since then, that I can't even take pictures. (They all come out super fuzzy - I can't hold my hand still) So I decided to put my camera on the floor and try a few shots. And it turned out kinda really kewl with the way the light was hitting the guitars :)

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Frantic. do you happen to know what kind and value of pots Heritage uses in those guitars? Also, do they put a treble bleed mod on the volume pots? How does yours sound when you roll the volume down? I'm seriously thinking about getting one pretty similar to yours in the near future. Thanx!

Mine is a 98 and they measured at 500K. The caps are hovlands too. I've got my pickguard off, and a jazz/A2P combo........both in double creme! :32: :32: :32:

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

I didn't see any treble bleed mods on the volume controls. I believe the pots are 500k pots. The treble stays REALLY well as you roll the volume down. To my ears it sounds perfect - no treble loss. The amount of treble is directly proportional to the current amount of volume on both pickups.

Here's a picture:

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Frantic,

She's a beauty.
Congrats.

I personally prefer the look of the Heritage headstock over the Gibby.
Especially when it's bound like that.
To me, the straighter the string pull the better.

Re: Brand NEW Custom Heritage LP arrives after Long wait!! *PICS*

Thanks kherman and Puckboy.
A friend of mine suggested to get the headstock bound because it looks better. I also got the tuners that match the binding.

I'm a binding freak to tell you the truth lol !

I want to get a strat further on down the line like the "Hamilton Luketamer" that Stevie played in Cold Shot. Gotta love the look of the bound guitar.
