Some dance I gotta go to needs something.(long story) But I'm wondering if it is safe to plug a laptop headphone out into my 5150 and it not blow up.

It won't blow up, but it will sound like ass. The EQ curve and frequency response of a guitar amplifier is totally wrong for amplifying music.

i do it through solid state amps sometimes...not sure how it would work out with tubes overdriving. basically guitar amps are made to have a big mid cut because the guitar pickups respond the most to mid-bass frequencies. it still doesn't sound as good as hi-fi stuff, but if you turn the bass and treble all the way down and the mids about halfway up, it gives a pretty flat response.

Yeah, it won't hurt but it won't sound good at all.

Bass and keyboard amps on the other hand, work pretty well.

Thanks for the help, I managed to find a small monitor system to use that sounds good. I tried the amp.....you weren't kiddin. I've heard better outta Goodwill systems.

i want a keyboard amp for stuff like this... they can have a million uses... keys, vocal mics, guitar and bass pods, drum machines, and music if needed... they are great powered PA systems...

dude i'm pretty sure you'd have only gotten the left channel of the audio out of the guitar amp anyway ;)

I run my comp into my acoustic amp then out to my bass amp in stereo, It sounds pretty good.

Nothing sounds better than Barry Manilow through a triple-rec.
