Hey, all - am I missing something?

Hey, all - am I missing something?

The way I see it, Carmine offered to share his musical experience and skills... his offer says "Go to Carmine's Corner http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/carminescorner/
and I will be glad to help you there" This is a very generous and sincere offer.

Then I read a post which in effect says "Screw you, if you want to do me a favor, you'll have to do it according to MY rules?

That's just plain bad manners. When someone offers you a favor, you accept it as offered or don't accept it. Simple choice.

Makes sense?

No, what are you talking about. I looked above and saw nothing like that in any posts.

Oh wait, you're right, I'm sorry, here it is:

"SEAFOAMER,I will not provide guitar instruction here on th Seymour Duncan ForumThe chords you named to the bridge of "Stella by Starlight" are the simplified, non re-harmonized chords, that only a beginner would play.If you are truly interesrd join CARMINES CORNER http://groups.yahoo.com/group/carminescorner"

that actually does look a lot like:

"Screw you, if you want to do me a favor, you'll have to do it according to MY rules?"

Excellent point my friend.

Seafoamer asked a legitimate, respectful question then Carmine bit his head off and insulted him.

Re: Carmines Corner

Guys, stop this nonsense. Carmine's definitely very confident with his skills and some of us might think his style's rather disdainful. But dammit, he's a perfectionist and rightly so! If you're asking for someone's help, appreciate what you get and tame your ego. If you feel insulted, you don't need to ask for advice next time.

Re: Carmines Corner

If he truly wanted to be part of this community, he would talk to each of us as we talk to each other- on a HUMAN level. This thread is nothing but spam. If he was really interested in helping people to learn to play, he would be posting useful information here, not directing us to his Yahoo group or insulting people like some sort of Jazz Nazi. Right now you and your spam posts are the laughing stock of this forum. Carmine, if you want to be accepted as a real member of this forum you are going to have to post here. People are not going to follow you to you Yahoo site. Isn't that clear yet?

That does not excuse his arrogance.

You keep telling us you are leaving, but then you suddenly come back...swollen head and all like nothing ever happened. You have alot of appologizing to do, sir.

My question for Carmine's Corner: Are you GONE yet?

Seafoamer....with credentials like a Bachelors of Music from Berklee and a Master of Music from the Boston Conservatory, how can you consider yourself educated enough to argue here? Get some real education and get back to us...ok? :laugh2: :laugh2:

Re: Carmines Corner

If I may add my thoughts on this matter, you guys might want to consider the weird position that this whole thing creates for SD.

I think that we all know what the posts are about, so I, for one, will continue to ignore them.

Not everyone's great at marketing themselves. Sometimes, they are so desperate that they make themselves look foolish, sheerly out of ignorance or desperation, or both.

I would encourage you to let it go. You do what you want, but that's what I intend to do.

Re: Carmines Corner

Hartley, I have a very interesting question. Whenever Carmine starts to get beat up on, you come on here and back him up. Does he by chance call you up and make you do it?

"do it or I will kick you out of my band" LOL!!!!!!!!!

Re: Carmines Corner

Harltey is a permanent member of my band, and a great guitarist.Hartley posts because he too feels insulted by some of the members posts.Listen,I am a really busy guitarist, and I am taking time out of a 14 hour day of recording, arranging, producing, composing songs for the third solo cd in my name.Hartley, beyond being a great musician, already has made a personal decision not to post her anymore.I may soon do this as well,Not all members fall into the category of musically un-educated,Let me explain:Just beacause somone has a BA from Berklee school of music(Most of my pro students, have graduate dregrees from Berlkee,or other music colleges)They come to me for private lessons. Why?they have not accumulated enough real time musical experiences=playing sessions for other performers, not just recording their songs in a studio.and I do not see the relationshio between my frienship for Seymour Duncan, the man,and a former studio guitarist friend of mine, and his pu's,which are phenomenal. One thing has nothing to do with the other.I asked the administrators of the Seymour Dunan forum, who noticed a have quite a following here at SD,as I was receiving over 85 pm's,and regular emails for help, and instruction,to put an "ASK CARMINE " add on to the SD forum.I was told "That would never happen period".I felt terrible over this, and suggested CARMINES CORNER.Seymour Duncan, the man,and his pu's are spectacular, but unfortnatelty this forum is populated by some really pro musicians, but the majority are children who are "hot shots"already, and rude in addition.,or "children" who think they are already set for life as players..My son is in the vey popular alternative rock band "40 below summer",and he suggested"DON'T YOU WORK HARD ENOUGH?DO YOU NEED THIS GRIEF?"Well,if members act rude or disrespectable,I am out of here. This was an attempt to help my fellow musicians. Most appreciate it and join CARMINES CORNER. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/carminescorner So,if you feel differenty PM me,Sincerly,Carmine D'Amico

Re: Carmines Corner

I appreciate the outstretched hand of support.

But I have one question - with no intention of being rude... but what personal attacks have these forumites made on you? Is not responding in regard to their musicial ignorance more offensive?

I'm not quite sure about the answers myself, but thanks for the offer! :)

Re: Carmines Corner

^ My post is a prime example of if you don't agree with what someone is doing, just accept them for who they are because you're otherwise wasting your time. ;)
