Create your signature model!

Re: Create your signature model!

ESP M Archtop (not Horizon)

Body:
-M shape but with carved top (in effect, a thinner Horizon)
-Alder body with quilt maple top, natural binding
-HH with custom-wound BKP's
-Single volume knob and 3-way LP-style toggle
-Tonepros TOM/stringthru bridge
-Green quilt finish (PRS green)
-Gold hardware

Neck:
-ESP M headstock reversed, but modded to have straight string pull
-Indian rosewood neck
-Abalone inlays in a swirling dot pattern I'll find later and post
-Sperzel tuners, graphite nut
-Bolt-in construction (like PRS CE's)

Re: Create your signature model!

Mine would be a PRS Hollowbody Spruce/ES-335 hybrid - I'd call it the PRS Spruce Semi-Hollow.

Body design: Hollowbody Spruce cosmetics w/ the addition of a solid maple center block (like on ES-335s). Spruce top, mahogany back and sides - all standard Hollowbody Spruce stuff.

Neck: McCarty style wide/fat 25'' scale - typical Hollowbody Spruce woods - mahogany w/ rosewood fretboard.

Inlays: moon inlays

Frets: Stainless steel, standard size

Hardware: standard Hollowbody Spruce

Electronics: standard Hollowbody Spruce except that the pickups would be custom Gibson Classic 57s (they'd be able to be tapped for single coil tones)

Cosmetics:

Style 1: Classic White/Cream w/ BWB binding (think Gibson's SG Custom), gold pickups, gold hardware, black pickup rings/etc.
Style 2: Black body w/ gold sparkle binding, gold pickups, gold hardware, black pickup rings/etc. (think Gibson Black Beauty/Gretsch Black Falcon)
Style 3: Wine Red w/ cream binding, cream pickup rings/etc., chrome pickups, chrome hardware
Style 4: Silver sparkle w/ black binding, chrome hardware, black pickup rings
Style 5: Orange sparkle w/ black binding, black pickup rings, chrome pickups, chrome hardware

Re: Create your signature model!

Gasp! I missed this thread for a week and a half! Mine is pretty vague I guess, I'm in the process of acquiring the money to build it.
• Mahogany strat body, painted by one of my friends then clear-coated.
• Maple neck and fingerboard, pearl dot inlay.
• Chrome hardware, clear pickguard.
• HSS; Full Shred bridge, APS-1 neck and middle
• Three-way lever switch wired like an Esquire, master volume and tone, 6-way rotary switch (neck / neck + middle / middle / middle + split bridge / split bridge / neck + split bridge)
And I guess that's all there is to tell. Maybe a clear-coat body and silver pickguard, maybe a black body and dark blue pickguard, maybe a trans blue body and black pearl or abalone pickguard. Cosmetics aren't the biggest issue to me.

Re: Create your signature model!

Maple neck/fretboard, 7,25" radius, oil finished, C-shape.
Alder body
Floyd Rose system by Gotoh
H-H routing (Bridge: Fullshred neck: PAF Pro).
Regular 3 pot Strat layout with 3 way switch.

Re: Create your signature model!

I want a Silhouette Special with a headstock and body that looks like this:
blueburst.jpg

and the following:
-no pickguard
-rear-routed electronics
-HH pickups w/ one three-way switch and a push-pull 500K volume knob to split the pickups.
-maple neck w/ rosewood board
-medium jumbo stainless steel frets.

Sort of like the twisted, supersexy love child of a Silo and a Petrucci with simpler electronics.

Re: Create your signature model!

This thread is awesome so I'm bringing it back.

Mine would have to be this:

-A thin (for light-weight) mahogany body that's thin on the edges but thick around the pups.
-24 fret neck that's thin, but not super thin... Neck-through preferred, but not required.
-My custom VXV logo on the headstock with my signature after it... Because I'm vain like that.
-Custom inlays... I haven't decided which kind yet... The 12th fret would have a VXV, though.
-Ibanez ZR trem with a wheel to adjust spring tension. I'm a huge fan of this trem and I find I use (mostly) in pitch bends much more than the flutter effect of a floyd, and I prefer the extra tension since I'm a strong handed player myself. I'd need the wheel for the spring tension though as, in both of my guitars with ZR1s in it, my adjustment screw has always broken off. I prefer the ball bearing trem to the snap in, though... It stays in place better, which is how I like it.
-The body would be a one piece body that looks a bit like the S-series from Ibanez but a bit more 'heavy metal' in style and it would be painted with my custom pink n' black color scheme.
-H/S/H pickups with PATB2 in the Bridge with slightly raised treble response and maybe an A8 magnet, Vintage Rails (parallel wired and over-wound a bit) in the middle, PATB1n in the neck. Triple shot rings in the bridge and neck.
-I'm torn between 1 CTS 500k audio taper volume pot with a .01 orange drop capacitor and 1 volume and 1 tone pot. I can't really decide between the two since I rarely use the tone knob that much, but on the other hand I enjoy a large amount of versatility.
-Philips head screws instead of flat head screws to adjust pickup height. I hate flat heads.
-The 5-way switch would be located above the volume knob to be able to switch faster.
-locking tuning pegs for extra tuning stability.
-Custom GHS Progressive Strings (.013/.016/.024/.032/.040/.052) with a wound G string. Thick strings for playing in C-Standard.
-Dunlop dual lock strap locks.
-CK colored hardware

It's kind of like my S but with a few differences.

Re: Create your signature model!

It’s a Heritage Cherry Gibson Flying V

With…

Mahogany body
Mahogany neck
Ebony fingerboard with ivory dot inlays
24-3/4" scale length
1-11/16" nut width
Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece
Chrome hardware
Seymour Duncan Hot P-90 in the bridge
500K Volume pot
Grover Deluxe Keystones tuners

Re: Create your signature model!

Swamp Ash strat style body with no forearm or tummy cuts, and a sharper radius on the bodies corners like on a Tele....

Mahogany Strat neck Rosewood board... with truss rod adjustment at the nut, 1 5/8 nut width, and a V Shape back... 6105 frets

Fishman Power Piezo Bridge.... Locking Tuners

JB/Single coil/Jazz....

finish poly, in Gold, Red, and White

Re: Create your signature model!

Based off of the ESP H-500 with these changes:

American-made in Michigan
24 3/4" scale length
12 inch radius fingerboard
22 medium jumbo frets
Satin finish on neck
SD Custom shop P90/Strat pup in neck (in "Sweet spot")
DMZ Air Norton in bridge
3-way switching (non-blade) with coil taps seperate for each pup.
3-way, master volume and tone located in typical PRS locations.
Parker Tremolo modified to 12 inch radius with Fishman piezos with piezo volume pot "out of the way"
Locking Tuners
Tobacco Sunburst front and back

Re: Create your signature model!

I'd go with a Heavy Relic Tele

Pine body
Blackguard
One piece maple nocaster neck
9.5 radius
medium jumbo fretwire
ping safe-t tuners
vintage style 3 barrel compensated bridge
custom SD ants...now that I think about it, make that an esquire

by the way, I don't want it reliced by the custom shop or whatever. I'd like to have that built in a few months and we can call it signature in a few years of hard gigging.

Re: Create your signature model!

Gibson Explorer: one piece mahogany body nitro finished in white, or oil finish natural, raw maple neck, ebony board, aluminum tailpiece, master tone (where neck vol. would be) master vol (where bridge volume would be), kill switch (where tone should be). I would either go with Bill Lawrence L500XL and R or the Suhr Aldrich set... would say duncan 78 set, but I have yet to try em!

Re: Create your signature model!

if i could turn my SG into this...
dreamguitar.jpg

with a few minor details switched around...
-thicker body(les paul thickness, whatever it is:dunce:)
-maple top
24 frets
-it says "stufff" on the pickguard
-medium c-profile neck
-relocate strap button upwards to get rid of neck-dive
-trapezoid inlays

edit:
electronics:naughty:
PG8 in the bridge
a3/a5 RWRP custom dog ear p-90 in the middle
a4/a5 duncan phat cat
500k pots all around
series and phase switches for bridge/neck
coil cut for bridge
3 way for neck and bridge
3 way between p-90 and other 3 way
3 volume master tone(stacked tone pot, 250k for p-90 and 500k for bridge/neck)
