Aceman
I am your doctor of love!
So I have been neglecting this guitar for a bit, but I have a couple of shows coming up where I want to use it. So I've been working out on it and adjusting tuning/floyd/pickups/strap etc. getting stage ready-comfortable.
I have to say - I REALLY dig the CL/LF pair!
I did the Crunchlab Petrucci style (even though I'm not a follower of his stylings), with the crunchy bar away from the bridge - and I think it is crunchy as hell. So no worries there! Nice and hot, but a big sound. It's like a pickup for amps that need an OD boosting to tighten things up - but it doesn't need the OD. In a dark guitar id probably flip the bar to the bridge.
And I am really really digging the Liquifire in the bridge. Almost like a high output PG to my ears, but with tighter bass. It has a nice tight bass response, a pretty sporty mid punch/cut, but not overly smooth on the high end. Cuts nicely, and works well with the tone control. Been playing Malmsteen licks (badly) with it. Really nice neck solo or rhythm sound.
Highly recommend 10/10
