Decking a Strat-Down only a tuning problem?

Re: Decking a Strat-Down only a tuning problem?

Yeah,
GuitarDoc, I intend to have fun. A little nervous as I haven't played live for 2 years. It is sold out, cramped and I just got a call the venue is already filling up. The advertisement says "Ed will be player a 1 hour acoustic set featuring Tacoma's Steve "Guitar" Buffington. I've been getting emails like -Hey steve, your the best, we're coming just to see you!- In the 70's and 80's I used to be a big deal around here, especially after I played with Eric Burden for a summer. At the time he made me play 1 of Jimi's Marshall stacks for rehearsal (it almost took my head off) and he resembled Bilbo Baggins at the time. I've got about an hour before showtime and man, am I nervous. Don't need to be, but, hell, I'm human, can't help it. Wish I could have a shot beforehand, but I am a alcoholic, so no booze.
So with that in mind, I am under some pressure to be "good". So I'll do my best, have fun, and if that isn't good enough for my old "fans" then too bad. Believe me-I will get a clip on when I can't use my Boss tuner-I swear!

OK,
The place was so crowded I had to point at my guitar to get to the "stage" (a big rug). it was by the water with hot lights inside-windows open so it was hot/cold/hot/cold, etc......... Was able to sneak my Zendrive in, it really was a crowded, cramped cheek to cheek band space. It was thrilling when I went up, first solo in Butterfield's "Done a lotta wrong things" I got whistles and claps afterwards and big applause after, since it was just us 2, Eddie said my name and I got that big welcome "clap-hoot-whistle" sound that you could live off of instead of food. Same for the next 2 songs. I was so thrilled I coulda cried.
Had to leave during their set cause of my back but they were great. Their singer doing Ronstandt and Raitt was so good I got goosebumps. Guitar stayed in very good tune, I had it in my hands before I went up as their was no where to put and these nice folks let me sit at their table right in front. Ed was really banging on his Martin, hard, and stayed in tune great too. Being on stage, for me, felt like going home. In this whole world that is where I fit best. Thanks for your support.
No wonder I spend so much time on this forum, it is as close as I can get to playing live, just reading about guitars on this forum especially is fun for hours. Smart folks, interesting answers on all things guitar.
