I wish I'd dig up a mapleneck someday
And my RS135 is black as well....I don't like black guitars much....
Gotta dig up a mapleneck for that one at the very least!

I've had baaad GAS for an SA saber with the poplar top. Just love the look and feel when I played one in store.

I know, I try to ignore the black... But agree that maple fingerboard with black is the only way to go . Like those former black RG550s which came with maple - good look, imo.

I pulled this baby out and accessed the situation today.

Originally i did it in that minwax **** and although it did look nice the finish chipped of in sheets. so i had to sand it all off.


I did the bridge posts awhile ago, But then stopped work on it after i realized i really couldn't use a chrome bridge.


Then today i thought maybe i could just do a burnt chrome finish on the bridge/neck plate with an oxy making it all blue and yella :friday:

Then i need to refinish it. Again!

The 540r is about the only Ibanez shredder I've ever liked. And that blue!! Ergonomically, it does everything right.
