Down to two now

Re: Down to two now

I reckon i could get by with just a tele and a steel string too. Sometimes I think about it, but i know i wont be able to part with the others.
Well done for making the leap!

Re: Down to two now

I have had a mountain of guitars.....well most of them was a waste of money and way too much wasted time.
Some I learned alot from, others where just a waste of time and focus...

I always got caught up in ifs and maybes...or could be.....
Sometimes I wish that I had focused more on playing than gear...
But it is a double edged deal, on one side you learn alot from mistakes and such, on the other hand I took out alot of time that I could used on playing instead...maybe it even prevented me from playing in some setups, where I could have had a job...but because I wasted it on gear, the time that it is, I never got those gigs....

On the hindsight I should have honed my sightreading and such...yeah I used to read notes when I was a kid....now....I can't read much anymore....

Now I know how to fix guitars and such.....but I rather wish that I was better at playing instead.
It was a lack of focus due to way too many guitars, projects and such....
My old mate I grew up with, plays lots of gigs now....

And I make pedals and guitars ;)
Hah oh well such is life, I long since stopped regretting it anyways...no use for that, I moved on.
I still play but it is far from what I used to do.
...You DO know what the lyrics you quoted in your signature say, right?

No matter how much one might be careful
No matter how hard he chases after it
Always, always it will be too late,
There is no second chance to life.

To get back on topic, I don't think I could cut down to just two even if I wanted to. Hell, I have 8, wanted to cut down to 6 and couldn't see any way to go bellow 7 (and didn't even do that 'cause I ended trading it instead of selling it).

Re: Down to two now

;) I do...am a huge Arvanitaki fan...
The grievance(To parapono) is the tune called(you probally know that?!?)

I am still considering selling the Floyd Rose guitar....
But then again it does sound good, it is a total different guitar from the Tele.
I really do not play that kind of stuff much anymore.
Trying to use it for more mellow stuff.

I sit here at home and almost only use the guitars for testing pedals on a few different amps these days.
My other friend/fellow in pedal making crime has everything from Strats to Les Pauls....
So there is not really a reason for me to float in guitars.

While I like having them, the old urges and desires are just burning that hot anymore....
I am winding down these days in many ways, and the guitars and music related stuff are following, hehe it is always worse here in winter time ;)
But I am downscaling alot, almost sold all of my considerable pedal collection, some of which I have had since I started playing some odd 30+ years ago.

The paradox is that I am working on our own stuff, but even that is very low key.
Most guitars I handle these days are other peoples instruments.
