is it true that emg's dont loose signal or anything like passives with wireles guitar systems, that they keep sounding exactly the same even with cheap systems ?????????

Re: emg's and wireless systems!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about wireless or cheap, but their signal doesn't degrade when running a lot of effects or long cords like passives can.

Re: emg's and wireless systems!!!!!!!!!!!

not from what i found...with the two wireless systems i had in the past (samson and sennheizer) if they weren't set up right the wireless can suck the tone out of and EMG and make it sound very thin and dull. it all depends on how the wireless is set up and how complex a unit it is. the samson i had you just turn one knob and thats it to set the output, the sennheizer took a bit more tweeking but was also a high end wireless.

Theyre probably better for wireless/long cables than a passive pickup, but anything going through the air or a long cable will be prone to signal loss and interference.

Re: emg's and wireless systems!!!!!!!!!!!

(passive pickups sound better in my opinion, so that makes up for any signal loss) :)

Re: emg's and wireless systems!!!!!!!!!!!

Ask Warren Haynes, he runs passives through a couple 20 footers and loves the way it bleeds off some top end. So it's not always a bad thing. Besides, look how much sh~t Gilmour used to run through back in the day and his tone was wicked cool.

Re: emg's and wireless systems!!!!!!!!!!!

can someone recomend me a good system , but not that expensive

Re: emg's and wireless systems!!!!!!!!!!!

what do you want to use it for? live in clubs and places with TVs, radios, cellphones other kinda of PITA electronics that are sending signals that may mess with the cheaper ones...or just for practice and rehersals?

Yes, the Audio Technica 1400 Series. I've got 2 of them, one for the bass rig, one for the guitar rig and they're a great UHF sytstem. They'll run you anywhere from $300-350, but they're worth every penny.

I understand, but the thing with wireless systems is that you get what you pay for, and unless you're willing to spend money for a decent system, you're better off just buying really good cords, because a mediocre wireless translates into mediocre signal.
