ESP America

Re: ESP America

I actually just read about this on Premier Guitar this morning. The 2014 Winter NAMM Show will be the unveiling. I'm curious to see what price points they are looking to hit. If

its Custom Shop prices then I'll pass but If they tap into the $1000-$1500 range like an ESP Standard Serires but Made in the good ole USA I will definitely keep my eye on it.

Re: ESP America

read some crap on SSO about it, but yeah i'll take one, if there is zero abalone, and my favored shape. Does it mean it is less cash? Or will we get shafted anyhow?

Re: ESP America

Anyone know more about this?

huh? NOT the models named "usa", which are japanese but change things around to avoid patent infringement (ex: 3 pots instead of an LP's 4 on "eclipse ii usa" models, which are very much japanese made and refer to usa market not usa made)??????

Welll....if it IS mia esp, i wouldnt touch it if they gave it away free and paid me to. Cuz its a freakin travesty. It's only ever been recognition of several 100% mij brands' competitiveness in the superpremium segments that's been keeping Fender and Gibby somewhat on their toes and trying to do it right every once in a while.

This sorta thing will reaaaaaallly screw up the hiend market for a decade or more if it catches on. It'll be Norlin and CBS, revisited.... Hmm, maybe that's exactly the whole point in esp's strategy? Sneaky poison pill move masquerading as a concession??

^^

Wtf are you talking about?

ESP is a big MIJ champion = making its upper premium line American would be effed up

...and, despite lower labour costs in USA, making the LOWEST esp line american would also not do the company any good.

Any way you play it, it's a PR disaster. Unless theyre playing some hidden agenda

Re: ESP America

I guess they've realized the redneck metalhead demographic that makes up 90% of their sales wants to buy American made products.

I really don't care because they have always felt like Hondas to me... Good enough for the price but nowhere near the real thing...

The later bodies and necks were ESP but in raw form. All the painting, assembling, fretting, setup and wiring were done in the NJ Kramer facility.
