The guitarist I played with last year has one in white. Great guitar with modern features (for being a Gibson). I think you'd like that. I remember he specifically wanted to play the show with it because he said it was lighter and way more comfortable than his Epi LPC or his Strat. I got to play it briefly, and I liked how it felt. If you've ever tried one of the cheaper Tributes, it feels like that. The satin finish is very slick and easy to play and also very thin, so Gibsons with that kind of finish have a reputation for being very open-sounding. It does gloss up with use, though. And the neck profile is the 60's with the compound radius, I believe, which I find comfortable, personally.I was also considering getting some sort of Les Paul this year, like a Studio Modern. I dig all the modern features, and hey, it comes in blue! I have to say, Gibson's photography department totally sucks. I can't believe the crappy pictures they allow on their website.
The only real downside was his 498T was microphonic. I think that's a common issue because that Trogly dude from YouTube had the same issue in his demo of the Modern Studio. He fixed it by simply removing the cover. But I'm sure you'd swap the pickups out because IIRC, you don't like the 498T/490R, do you?
