Just wondering what's a favorite "strat amp" for cleans and tone.

I like a newer "Evil" Twin I tried at the local shop or my friend's MusicMan HD 115 Sixty Five combo.

Hard to beat a tweed 5F6-A Fender Bassman with four Jensen P10R alnico speakers. SRV and Buddy Guy tone to the max! Very Marshall like too so I can get some great Hendrix tones out of mine.

Just found the right amp for the cristal clear strat tones : Mesa Boogie Lonestar 1x12 combo ! :burnout:

This amp kicked my a$$ as soon as I tried it in the guitar shop and still does everytime I plug in :saeek:

You get Blackface & Twin tones on this amp. It's really huge !

I know this is not for clean tones, BUT:

I am a huge fan of a Strat and a marshall . . . a good strat + dsl = sweet blues, and some great rock

i figure 2 key elements in a good clean strat tone amp would be some headroom for cleanliness, and a fat sound. Anybody play strat>JTM45 ?

Any blackface fender amp, original or reissue will get you where you want stratwise. All depends on how much volume you need. My favorties for sweet strat tones are 1)princeton reverb, 2) twin reverb, 3) vibrolux reverb 4) deluxe reverb. In no particular order.

When I think awesome cleans, this is what I think of:

Victoria, TopHat Club Deluxe, Fender blackface Twin or Deluxe Reverb, Matchless Chieftain (it really is that amazing).

The Mesa Lonestar has great cleans, for a Mesa. My H&K gets better cleans, but the Matchless... now there is a clean

Fender AB165 circuit through a Fender Vibratone (Keep that 10" Utah speaker)

A/B'ed with a

Fender Super Reverb with a AB763 circuit (With 4-10" Weber Alnico speakers)

BF Fender combos(Deluxe Reverb,Pro Reverb,Twin Reverb) and my Cyber Twin combo 2x12... :dance:

If you add a bit of reverb to an ole Marshall you get nice clean tone also...Pre JCM 800 series..
