That's not good news. The s1 switch has a darn 1meg pot in it?!?! I was under the impression that it was a 250k pot...as was the rest of the guitar.

If it is indeed a 1meg pot (can you measure the pot for me if you still have it?) Then I would expect the SCNs to sound downright muddy if used with anything lower than a 1meg pot...since the SCNs are dark in their own right...

if that happens, I might bail on them regardless...

There's a good chance I'm wrong, but for whatever reason 1meg just popped into my head. I'll try to research it to find out. Maybe it was some other pup that required 1meg pots? Another mystery on our hands...

Yep, they are 250k - all 3 of them. That 500k pot might help to clear things up a bit then! Rock on.

Yes, please leave it in. I definately won't be suffering from over brightness as I'm playing into a Boogie Single Rec.

Let us know how you make out with the SCN's w/out the s1....when you get the pickguard back...inquiring minds would like to know!
