Anybody here have something in the Flextone III line?

Some commentary from owners of them would be much appreciated.

Re: Flextone III anybody?

I have a Flex III 1x12. I actually have quite a bit of Line 6 stuff. The Flex III line when it first came out was good, but they just issued an update you can apply directly off their site, that is just phenomenal!!! Any older units still out there may to be updated, but the one's coming out of the factory now will probably have the new update. There is a way to check the version by holding a series of buttons down on startup to check what it has. It's in the manual.

Personally the one to get in this line is the Flex III Plus. It runs at 60w by itself, but by adding the satellite cab for big stereo sound, it beefs up to 100w. I know quite a few pro guys here in LA using this setup.

You can also use their Line 6 Edit software to deep edit your tones, or load other players tone patches up, even from other products like the PODxt.

Re: Flextone III anybody?

The Plus to the XL is the 2-12's and the extra power correct?

I prefer 2x12 combos for gigging and I'd rather not drag an extra cabinet if I can help it. Is there some other advantage to the Plus (1x12) I don't know about?

I've been holding back from a digital rig because I hate to think it's going to make my amp setup like my PC setup, get a new one every couple of years or you're in the dust. I like that they offer patch upgrades and a pretty impressive tone library, that is pretty slick.

Re: Flextone III anybody?

Pretty much 2x12 and more power upfront. It's just me, but I like the way the 1x12 sounds over the 2x12. Try both side by side in a store. It's heavier too.

I also highly recommend the FBVSB (Shortboard), so you can access/save to all memory 36 locations. Otherwise you have access to the first bank of 4 memory slots. There are 9 banks with 4 in each. The first bank are the buttons you see on top of the amp. Plus with the floorboard, you can set a patch and control it like a stomp box. e.g. turning a chorus on/off as needed.

Re: Flextone III anybody?

Great thanks for the input.

Have you done much gigging with your? I just love the want they can do, completely amazes me.

Re: Flextone III anybody?

I actually used an HD147 for 6 months and now have a Vetta II HD into a Genz Benz GFlex 212. The Flex III is only used at home currently.
