Re: Floyd rose qusetions
Im glad its not just me who cant find anything on that site.
Might as well get Gotoh then!
It's way cheaper, just as good in terms of quality, and even has a few great improved designs:
* Locking stud to make sure the studs dont oval your guitar body over time and overall improves tuning consistency
* Smoother saddle edges for your palm
* Inner threaded arm with a separate tension adjusting mechanism for more flexible arm configurations
In addition to that, the Gotoh is also made for 14" fretboard radius, which is much more in-line with modern guitars. Floyd Rose somehow still thinks people are installing Floyds on 10" and 12" radius guitars with narrow 1 5/8" spacing when brands like Jackson and Charvel are running compound 12-16" radius fretboards with 1 11/16"... Of course, you can just shim the saddles to fit whatever radius you want, but if you're building something it's just nice to have a part that's machined to match perfectly. Not sure what fretboard radius you'll be building, but keep that in mind as well. Make sure to order some saddle shims just in case.
You can buy the Gotoh here:

Dimensions for the bridge piece here:

Nut dimensions here, I'm linking 2 but they have a few more on the site (they even sell several versions of the nut! Like top mount, through-the-neck-mount). Make sure to get the nut that fits your neck width and string spacing and fretboard radius!!!!!!!
