Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

As most of you guys know I love Fender Teles and Blackface Fender amps more than any other setup on the planet. Well yesterday me and Christian took a little trip to GC and I left there blown away by a Marshall they had. It was the 2061X handwired series plugged into some Marshall 4x12 (can't remember, but it cost $1200 for the cab).

It's a 20 watt head and it absolutely was one of the best sounds my ears have heard in a long time. Plus Christian just had to hit that bad boy with a Paula so now my Paula GAS has taken a turn from maybe someday to actually highly considering!!

I have NEVER owned one single Marshall of the dozens of amps I have owned, but I seriously see myself getting into this amp enough to buy one.

Even *I* have owned a couple Teles and a few Fender amps.

You have never owned a Marshall?

Those amps do sound good. Better than the 18w, IMO..a little more gainy and plexi-ish.

Well, it's about time.

I've never compared my DIY to real 18- and 20-watters, but I suspect mine's more like a 20, since it has a SS rectifier. Best-sounding "Marshall" (for my purposes) I've ever owned, but that's because I always had to tame the volume on bigger ones.

Also, that 20-Watter on its slant-front baby 1/4 stack cab is the coolest looking 2-12 rig in the world.

Different store bro. I swear i played this amp at the GC you and I went to through a dinky Boogie cab and thought it sounded horrible, but mother of all that's good it freakin' rocked my face off yesterday. I absolutely am in love with it!!! Christian thought it sounded good too.

Seriously...go back to that other GC & try the Emplexador :32:

Guys i am serious.... the more and more I recall my experience with that tone yesterday the more I think I won't be able to live without this amp. I am pretty sure I will be on the hunt for one around the 1st of the year.

I haven't heard that particular amp in person but have been interested in it myself just to hear it.

I think next time you go there you need to take your Tele with you.

I think a Marshall is the best thing for your amp addiciton. I mean, how exactly hard core can a crackhead be if he's never smoked a bit of grass?:smokin:

$1300 shipped is a good price for those.

But I'm telling ya'.....take your Tele down to that GC we went to, plug into the Emplexador in vintage Plexi mode, a Greenback loaded cab & your Marshall quest will end !!! :bigthumb:

^^^ Aren't they REALLY loud though? This head is 20 watts and you can turn it to full volume and not kill everyone around you.

It's a 50 watter that sounds fantastic at any volume.

VERY VERY GOOD Master volume on these.

The VINTAGE side is old school Plexi......the MODERN side gives up the JCM goods. Just play with the Master & GAIN knobs, as they work together for the overall output.

You might want to check out the Soldano Astroverb. It's Soldano's 20w head and goes for about the same money as that Marshall new. I just saw this Or a lot less than the Marshall Does GC or another local shop have Soldano amps? Just a thought.
