Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

My Ironsounds 18 watt is much more like the 20 watt Marshall than the original 18 watt. And it covers a lot of ground tonally.

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

It's about time you like a decent amp bro. All that Fender "cleaness" has gone to your head. Nothing like the warm, honey dripping, soothing cleans of a Plexi AND the crushing rythym and lead tone of one. The crunch of a JCM 800 and the singing sustain of a Silver Jubilee.

It's about time you took the training wheels off.

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

Training wheels. :laugh2: :laugh2: :chairfall

I've gone through phases of British and American tone. I started with British type amps in the 80's. Throughout most of the 90's, I used boutique Fenders....Blues Pearls. Then in the 2000's, I got bit by the British bug again.
And I'm not just talking about gain. The British cleans sit more forward in a mix than Blackface tone. All I've been playing is Bogner, Matchless, and Gibson Goldtone.

Now, I'm the opposite of B Bent. I'm starting to jones for the Blackface sound again, and I'm sure my next amp will be something like a 64 Vibroverb or Tone King Meteor. If you've never heard Tone King amps Greg, you'll see why Knopfler uses them, as soon as you plug in.

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

You fag don't you dare slap your forehead at me!!! :laugh2: You thought it sounded great too!!!

It did sound great but it sure didn't sound like an $1800 amp and IMO it didn't even sound like a $1300 amp plus it doesn't sound good enough for you to keep it for more than 6 weeks:no: :laugh2:

LOL I think Greg's got his mind made up from the way he talked about it to me!

Now this is an odd situation. Mr. Blackface fender goes 20-watt Marshall, and me Mr EL34 British high(er) gain goes Blonde Fender.

Oh, and Zerb buys an Ibanez and Drew Half Empty wants a Strat.

WHAT IS THE WORLD COMING TO?

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

Greg, you need a 12-step program.

How could you experience the joy of playing through a custom-built amp by our own Super Duper Tone Producer and then GAS for something off the showroom floor of Guitar Sinner?

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

Do you think you could do an EXACT replica of this amp Scott? It needs nothing more than it already has.

Is it PTP wired? If it is, buy it. You'll get it now and it'll carry better resale value than one of mine, I'd guess. At least it'll appeal to waaaay more potential buyers than a company that few have ever heard of (even if the reputation is pretty good so far).

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

Given the speed of Greg's "flips," I'd have to agree with ya, Papa Smurf.

OTOH, for anyone who wants a keeper, I'd have to say it'd be a mistake to pass on a Celtic.

Who would be dumb enough to sell a Celtic? :smack: :blackeye:

(not including you of course)

People's tastes change. Stuff happens. I'd be fooling myself to think you wankers would keep them forever. :smack:

I tease about resale value, but I figure the way I've got these things priced, it'd be darn hard to lose too much money on one.

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

I'm sure that will happen to one of us one day, but not too terribly many. Not many folks out there making custom amps made to order. That fact alone would make an amp hard to let go of. Just because it's made just for me and has all the cosmetic and internal doo-dad's I like.

Re: Forgive me... I have sinned!!! I have lusted for another!!

Greg has already flipped a Celtic.

:smack: Oooohhhhh. You said no one in their right mind!
