So far we have a bridge hum (and trembucker) at 13k -14k, with an Alnico 8 magnet. Next up is pole choice.

Standard slugs and flathead screws

All slugs

All flathead screws

Hex polls and slugs

All hex polls

Big rails (iommi/ian style)

Big rail and other (TBD if it wins)

Parallel axis style poles

Parallel axis style and other (TBD if it wins)

Invader style large cap head screws

When you see “…and other (TBD if it wins)” that means if you want for example a big rail and hex heads vote for that, if you want a big rail and slugs vote for that and if that option wins then another poll will go up to cover each option under that category and also determine where you want the rail and where you want the “other”. Same goes for the parallel axis style and other.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

I voted "big rails & other", but would be cool with dual big rails.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

I went Parallel axis. after the talk on the other poll, i'm kinda interested.

BTW ,before i bought a PATB2 ,i e-mailed MJ to make me a custom PATB with some more highs and less bottom.
She never replied. And i ordered a standart one!So this is my chance now hahah!

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Since the "big rail" is really the magnet, can you have that and another style?

I'm not in on this (too low output) but I was just wondering...

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Parallel Axis all the way!! Right now I have PATB1's in 2 guitars and this pickup would be great to replace one of them for a bit of variety.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

I went with big rails but I thought this was the way we weren't going to do the poll this time around???

Diluting the Parallel Axis and Rails options with 2 separate categories in this poll is going to make either one harder to win, when the traditional players that may opt for screws/slugs will outrank either PA or rails alone.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

oh man... I was so set on big rails + something else but Daemon Barbeque has almost sold me on the Parallel Axis.

I honestly cant vote right now, I've actually gotta give this more thought, and thats a first!

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

seymour duncan says that parallel axis is the way pickups should be built, so i would like to see them live up to that statement. i'm looking forward to receiving the patb-1 i have on the way. if this new one comes out pa, i'll be pretty damned excited

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Parallel Axis all the way!!!! I have always wanted to try those, and with a custom wind and an a8 mag WHY NOT?

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

I would like to try the Parallel Axis poles, but I'm happy with whatever is decided.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

I voted for PA, because it sounds like a good deal. Also, shouldn't this be stickied?

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Yo, this is a hard choice fellas...even harder than the magnet..way harder actually..I played my PATB-1 and 3's yesterday and those pickup rock, no ****. I have too many guitars to pick from and normally would vote for a regular screw/slug pick up to keep options here to which one to replace with these CS bad boyz...and since we have a maximum of 4 pickups..I might as well get 4 while I can!! My hope is, if this works and we do well ..maybe just maybe,,in 2008 orso..we get another shot..and than we can go regular..so I am leaning PATB right now..but I'll wait till later today for my final vote.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Wow that poll is complete BS.

By having 2 of the options being split up you are basically halving the votes for them.

If would be highly incorrect and unfair to the *majority* if you didn't add those votes together.

I was thinking that about the magnet poll, but ultimately A2, A5, and A8 were close enough anyways, I'm fine with whats decided. If the similar options are added together this effectively could save us another poll, since we can see whether or not people want the PA on both coils or just on one coil. I think these kind of complaints could be handled in a more civil manner, by writing a respectful PM back before this poll was up. You've made your argument that those options should be added together, now we play the waiting game.

EDIT: and actually to be fair, the other options are pretty split up too, since flat head screws falls in to two categories, as does slugs, as does hex poles, the only one not split up is the invader.

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Would you explain what's the differences between all the poles ?
not only the differences in it's look, but what each pole does to the tone ?

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

My 1st choice would be thin blades, 2nd PA, 3rd fat blades. Since there is no option for thin blades I voted PA.

I don't mean that to be insulting, but I don't see why you didn't just add the "TBD" thing to the existing option instead of adding an extra slot for it.

That's kind of different than the magnets since this seems more redundant.
What are you talking about?

Yah...I'm just ignoring Mephis.

Well in the last poll you guys really got me interested in the whole PA thing...so PA it is!

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Re: Forum member custom shop pickup….VOTE #4

Either PATB poles or, PATB poles and something else. On the poll my vote will go for the PATB poles but, consider a vote for either.

We PATB lovers know, the PATB's are the best pickups ever made, its a shame they are overlooked by almost everyone.

BTW, if it turns out to be a PATB, I really want one in Double Cream!!!!!!!! That would really make it special!!!!
