I think it's a Axe-FX without the amp modeling, just FX. They don't have power amps in them to begin with.

Interesting, but I think Line6 already does that with the M13.

I'd say it's more in the league of the TC G-System than the M13. Fractal does some terrific FX, particularly delays and reverbs.

I'd be interested in what parts of the concept are executed at the same level in both products, and how much one leads the other in areas where they diverge.

Reading the description, they both use the "Scenes" thing where you can change the whole layout, which I guess is the main thing that made me think of the M13. Quality and variety of effects between the two is something to consider, though, since Line6 is hung up on emulating Vintage stuff rather than producing the effect itself.

I haven't really been able to put the M13 to the test, but I believe it can do 4CM, and I know it has a EXP jack, MIDI, etc.

M13 does only four fx at once though.

This FX8 might be along the lines of the strymon big box units in sound quality.
