GAS GAS GAS For those of you looking for big power and tone

Re: GAS GAS GAS For those of you looking for big power and tone

not the huge sound of a bass head but it sounds very nice and raunchy!

Re: GAS GAS GAS For those of you looking for big power and tone

I have the V4- its very loud once it starts breaking up, on 8- the control switches it comes with are very cool for getting diff parameters. But overall its very dark for guitars- it aint ever bright, like a Fender, but its warm and tubey. and used to be ginormous basswise, before modern amp designs caught up. Id say itd be great for MyBloodyValentine/ Sonic Youth league oceanic noise wall. i played it on 2, maybe three with a compressor to get outdoorsy clear tones. It beats solid state for cleans. I had a
4*12 ported cab with it.

Listened around, this seems to be more of my style. A few paychecks and I'll be in the market for something monstrous like that, I'd probably get a semi trashed one off ebay and fix it up and run it with a d120f 4x12 YEAAAAA:firedevil

Sunn was very popular back in the 60's. Their PA made a great guitar amp. With 4x12 D120's that thing will crank and split ears.

Re: GAS GAS GAS For those of you looking for big power and tone

I once had a 2x15 that I built for a set of authentic D130F's I used to run with my 63 bandmaster, the 2 15's sold for huge profit on ebay and that funded my DRRI, but I still regret it.

A 4x12 cab with a celestion blue, jensen P12Q, D120F, and an alnico Fane would be heavenly to record with, 4 sennheiser MD421's and a peluso ribbon mic at a distance, ahhhhhh
