Gibson v Dean trial to start

Personally, I can't understand why the Cadillac isn't more popular. It's basically a Les Paul with more styling flair. I've had one in nearly every decade since they were introduced as the E'Lite.

lol.

since this is most Gibbys made from a hellfire orgy -does Dean have to stop this one? :lmao:

The only Dean shapes that appeal to me are the ML, V, and Z. I love my ML Chicago Series. That atrocity above must be why they mention the SG in the case, though the body is half of one.

I'd like the caddilac if the horn was on the top and that sweet open upper fret access was on the bottom. As it stands . . . it's a dumb design.

Let's see:

ML = Explorer + V
Cadillac = Les Paul + Explorer
Splittail = SG + V

Some interesting combinations. The ML being the oldest and probably the most recognizable in the lineup.

I see this argument if there are 24 frets, but with 23 I don't think access is much of an issue.

Im not a huge fan of 24 frets because it more often makes the truly gorgeous part of a neck pickup suffer some tonal indignity for the price of 1 or 2 frets. not worth it in my case.

I haven't seen the full details of this yet, but what's the story with the SG design?

Do they have to pay out to Yamaha for designing it for them as they robbed the original design and now suing Dean for doing less? :11:

Not my thing. They look too derivative of other designs.

Says the man with a Warmoth Strat. Not derivative AT ALL.

At any rate, I wish all the best for Dean and hope they come up with some new stuff that knocks the market out.

Warmoth does it better than the what the design is based on, though.
