the guy who invented fire
Fuzzy. Guitars
maybe this has been talked about before, but...who has killer gear and a bad tone...I'll go first.
Jimmy Page(very overrated...sounded much better on a Tele)
Slash(I never understood anyone wanting the "Slash" tone)
Early Metallica(It's fizzy/buzzy, and it's not defined)
Alex Lifeson
Geddy Lee(I have never seen so much good gear sound a bad as it does when both Alex and/or Geddy is using it)
Tom Sholtz(I HATE his tone)
Steve Miller(No balls at all)
Receny Santana(It's just a bad tone)
80's Eric Clapton(Elite Strats just don't sound good)
Just to prove that I do like some things here are some good tones
Jimmy Page(Early days)
Later Metallica(Really just Load and reLoad)
early Santana
Clapton(face it...Bluesbreakers, Cream...these are the tones dreams are made of)
ALL Jeff Beck
Buddy Guy
Duane Denison
Billy Gibbons(Tons of different tones, NONE of the bad, he really is the Rev. in my book)
Seymour Duncan(Killer tone and chops to boot...he really should put out a record)
