They are sold exclusively by Guitarguitar - has anyone played one or have further info?
I did check out the Guitarguitar site but it has a very limited number for sale. Neither the light sonic blue or red models.

Thanks for anyone who has info regarding these guitars. I think the 7.25-9.5 compount radius fretboards are a cool feature!

Re: GUITARGUITAR 1959 NOS STRATOCASTER

The fretboard radius is OK-ish, although I don't like it, but the jumbo frets (if they are full jumbos) would be a dealbreaker for me.

Cant say i care for the use of the term NOS here... i mean its suppose to be New old Stock meaning unsold stock that has sat in a closet or forgotten in a warehouse for years...

This isnt NOS.. its not even a decent reissue... a 5 way switch and rwrp middle pickup?

Sorry I think its kinda lame... its a cool guitar but the name and the execution are lame

Re: GUITARGUITAR 1959 NOS STRATOCASTER

Some of you don't appear to have read what the guitar's about: 'tailored to the guitarist who is looking to combine vintage appearances with modern playability and features'. But, I agree, calling it a NOS '59 Strat is misleading given the overall spec.

Anyway, I'll have a red one. Combo of vintage and modern features might be pretty good.

"Faded Fiesta Red" looks like a regular Red to me.

This would be a faded Fiesta Red:

this red one reminds me of the one Gary Moore had, (before he did the gay move and moved to Gibsons :) ). A kick ass strat.

Re: GUITARGUITAR 1959 NOS STRATOCASTER

Is "NOS" being used as a synonym for "replica" now? Even when I see "NOS" parts on ebay, I'm often not convinced they're actually aged / old.

Re: GUITARGUITAR 1959 NOS STRATOCASTER

I have a couple NOS guitars and those I have are not different from brand new guitars.
I do not prefer jumbo frets either.
Maybe something between vintage fender frets from that time, and the current standard fender frets might be a nice match for the 7.25-9.5 fretboard radius - either would be okay with me if stainless steel.

If I want such a neck will probably have to have one custom made........don't need a guitar body because can do very well with Warmoth or others, but with a neck like the one above haven't seen a compound neck with those dimensions available anywhere else before.
Thanks for the input.....good stuff as usual.

Did you ever purchase a MIJ?

Not me....I haven't but from the posts here pretty convincing that a MIJ fender is a good way to go. I've continued to look for the right guitar and also try and keep in mind the difference between such a guitar for sale/resale on Ebay versus one from an authentic Japanese retailer, etc.

I'll just throw this out there, as it's sort of a hidden gem: http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/ec/cmHea...?wd=IKEBE ORIGINAL AST-FMT&registKeyword=true These Aerodynes are exclusive to the Ikebe chain in Japan. The maple neck on these feel amazing, and the black plastic / pearloid pick guard / blue body is a classic color scheme. I have no idea how they'd resale on ebay though, I've never seen one put up on ebay before. They're fairly pricy to begin with though, so I can't imagine it would fare well well, unfortunately, even if you played the rarity card.

I also want Dakota red, not Fiesta red.

Grumpy cat meme.
