Help me to identify this SD SSL please.

Hi all,

I own this SD pickup but it's weird because its DC resistance is ONLY 5,45K. Please help to identify it. Many thanks.

I'm going to guess it's an early SSL-1 or 2, depending on the stagger

^Yep, according to the sticker it should be an SSL-1

Another pic. What is weird is, if it's a SSL-1, whyt its DC reistance is only 5,45K ?

It's an SSL-1 with the vintage stagger. There's two reasons I can think of for it's lower output. One, thats the way they were back in the day. Second, someone had it rewound to lower specs.

or there are a few hundred windings that are grounded out. if it works and sounds good, i bet it would be a sweet neck pup, then i wouldnt sweat it

local environmental conditions may be affecting your DC readings as well....

i'm pretty sure its an APS-1 staggered alnico pro II. i've got some pups around here that have the 1R sticker on them and im pretty sure APS

the 5.45k is wrong for the APS too, but thats my vote

the 1R could indicate either aps or ssl, either way its a cool pup
