Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Not really, they're just super unoriginal in a really crappy style, IMO.

I listen to stuff like Nevermore, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Meshuggah, Tool, Textures, etc.

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Also..
i did what o told... but i didn´t shoot any video.. cause the same bad thing didn´t happen this time
i payed the entire 1:20 hour and id didn´t get Bright this time.
i switched between the D, C, and E standard tuned guitars and no problem...
but, the ibanez sounded crappy this time. it´s funny.

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Notice that the one that sounded crappy has STOCK PICKUPS ;).

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

in order to pwn everyone, i leave my solid state amp on for 36 minutes to heat up the tubes so it destroys everythn1212!11JSDFDSJ!!!

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

I guess it is the order i play the guitars...
in D , with the charvel, it didn´t seesm to push teh amp harder..
but with the FENDER in E, with the duncan´s it pushes it HARD.
with the Schecter , with the hb103 duncan designed pickups, it doesn´t push the amp
and with the IBANEZ, tuned in C, it pushes the amp.

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Yep... pickups make all the difference with amps. My Bogner doesn't drive very nice with my Fender Tele-Sonic (low output Gretsch Dynasonics), but it cranks with my Lollar Imperials (7-8k humbuckers) and roars with Lollar p90s. To no surprise, the cleans are the nicest with the Tele-Sonic.

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Yah, the problem seems to happen when i play FIRST, or for a good period of time, with the pickups/tunings that Pushs the amps harder.
when i do it, it tends to Either Get super bright, and loose the low end(it just happened this time, YET) OR gets kinda distorting/saturating the bass frequencies.
when i palm mute, with the E tuned Fender, or the C tuned Ibanez, it´s sounds kinda rattle Snake sound.. in the background.

He doesn't mean in that video; he's telling you to shoot a new one demonstrating the change.

You're waiting way too long on standby and crap before playing. I generally turn the power on, wait 30 seconds-1 minute to turn the standby on, and start playing immediately......

There is no "waiting too long" on standby´... I leave my rig on standby for literally hours at a time without issues, and have done so for over half of my life.... I take in my amp, set it up, turn it on (if temperature differentials allow, condensation wait of 30 mins or so in cold weather is a must...), and then get the rest of my gear... When I´m ready to play, and only when I´m ready to play, I flip the standby....

More time on standby is definitely not bad for the amp.... but anything less than 30 seconds is getting close IMO...

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

let me see if i understood it properly... How many minutes should i let the amp heat with just the power button, turned on? And how many with the stand by turned on?

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

1. Turn on the amp with the standby switch ON
2. Leave the amp with the standby switch ON for about a minute, atleast
3. Play! :D

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

WFD, what you might are hearing, "super bright, and loose the low end(it just happened this time, YET) OR gets kinda distorting/saturating the bass frequencies", are maybe the tone of the valves (tend to break up earlier when they are hot, afaik), or the voice coil of the speakers getting hot.

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Yah, muyst be that too
i also need to make a statement that i forgot here
i was playing the entirely session with a pair of COTTON on my ear.

While I've never owned a tube amp until now (the Triple XXX :D) I feel I've learned quite a bit, a lot of it from the guys on this forum. I would say that it's best to leave the amp on Standby mode (Standby switch down, NOT "ON") for at least 30 seconds before you turn it on (Standby switch up, "ON") to play.

However, it is probably best to give the tubes as much time as possible to warm up. For example if you were planning on playing guitar but you had some things to do before hand you could turn the amp on to Standby and then come back 30 minutes later, and your tubes would be nice and warm.

I thought tubes generally sound better when they've had lots of time to warm up anyway?

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

yah, i think that same way too.
but the guys seems to have a different understanding of the facts.
i need a accurated definition/reason for let it warming up or not fro 30 seconds.

THANK´S

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

30s is an absolute minimum! The tubes take some time too glow...
without the build up electron cloud it's bad to get high voltage for the tubes... ah bad english

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

I've never had problems with warming an amp up to slow or to fast.

I really doubt thats the issue, its most likely a tube.

Re: Help : Ultra Bright 5150 tone...!?!?!

Humrum, Thank´s guys.
I´m currently testing it
i´ll try to get some OD pedals to use in front of it. ts808, pro co ratt, big muff Pi.
