Yeah its a Grover Jackson MIJ so the first guess would be Sen, but those grains are really throwing me of and it doesn't have an alder/sen sort of stiffness to it in its tone eitherThat's tough. Sen and Swamp Ash can have very similar grains and not every cut has grain that is highly detailed. Here's a Sen veneer that looks a lot like your guitar:

If I HAD to guess, I'd say Swamp Ash. Still, who knows. Might be easier to tell by the make/model of the guitar...

The early Ibanez DT50's were actually specified as "Basswood & Birch" with Maple necks in the advertisements, if I recall. Another cool fact: A blue Ibanez DT50 was actually my first electric guitar!What color is yours?
