I have recently acquired a Fender Lite Ash Strat with the Seymour Duncan APS-1's in it. I got it as just the body so I bought I nice vintage tinted maple neck with locking tuners for it, much better than stock I must say! I've upgraded the pickguard to a 3 ply with full shielding on the back. Also replaced the stock 500k pots with CTS 250k and put a new 'Made in USA' 5-way switch for added reliability.
The real question here is what Seymour Duncan pickup would be a suitable replacement for the APS-1 that is in the bridge position with the same tone but a hotter version?
I love the tone the APS-1's get...simply beautiful...I just need more drive from the bridge position, and preferably without having to switch to a humbucker-type pickup since that would obviously change the tone and dynamics.
