how different straps change my tone.

Also, I find that for signature artist guitars, the appropriate signature strap is a must. No one tells you that the guitar, the pickups, etc just don't do it.

for example - Frehley tone with out a 3" leather and silver lightning bolt (not the one cheap Gibson Cotton versions or white printed on leather ones), is simply impossible.

And do you thing HS3's, or YJM's or anything is really going to get that over the top Screaming' Swede tone? Not without a DiMarzio Cheetah strap you aren't. More important than the scallops IMO.

And of course, why are the tone chasers and fan boys still discussing EVH after all these decades? Have you looked at his straps? They are all over the place! No wonder nobody can get the tone right. Even if you find the exact pickup - no one ever discusses the strap that was used.

Look closely - three DIFFERENT straps! The guy is all over the place, even though his leaping technique is almost exactly the same.

No wonder Satch is getting side-eye from the fans on Best of Both Worlds tour. Look at the strap - nothing we have ever seen Ed play!

(although, the videos I've seen from the first few shows have been great).

Was there it was awesome. But the Strap was certainly not right...and I feel it did impact the enjoyment of a few tunes weren't "quite" right.

On my number one SG I use a Bison Hide strap. This strap pulls off effortless pinch harmonics and has the tightest lowend of any strap on the market.
And lets not even mention the endless sustain it has.
But truth be told...Ive been using Grohlsh beer bottle washers as strap locks and as much as I hate admitting it its not all my prized strap. The bottle washers have the sweetest treble response Ive ever heard....even my mom noticed it when she heard me in concert in the basement playing to the dog and guinea pig.
