Then I have a Yamaha ERG121 (made in China) which I never play but keep because it was my first electric guitar and then a no name 3/4 nylon string classical guitar.

4 acoustics, 12 electrics, and a mandolin.

CLEARLY not anywhere near enough!

Re: How many guitars do you own?

6 Carvin Kiesels, 5 Washburn USA's and a PRS Custom 24 in electrics plus a Taylor AE110 and a Ibanez nylon in acoustics. 14 total. All get played at times but the Carvin Kiesels are the main regular players.

Now all members have this thread as justification to their wives /SOs, whenever it may be needed:

"Look honey, everyone has at least 5 guitars."

Well, as a pro guitarist, I own a lot less than most pros I know:
7 electrics, 3 acoustics.

I am not really a collector, and I tend to not have any use for the 'I need a Tele, and an LP, and a Strat' mentality. I just get what I know I will continually pick up and play.

Re: How many guitars do you own?

Oh boy. Almost 40?

Most are kept in different tunings or configurations. None of them are stock except the 2 PRS Mccarty 594’s.

Except me. I have three electrics and would be just as happy with two.
I would not mind a nice acoustic, but just one would be plenty.

Re: How many guitars do you own?

5 electrics, one of which is in unplayable condition. All of them with some sort of a Floyd though, so one day I might decide to get something with a fixed bridge. But apart from the same type of bridge, all of them have different features which somewhat justifies their existence (except for the one is in unplayable condition, which is only kept because that was my first guitar that was good enough to keep around for more than a few months): bolt-on neck, thru-neck, active PUPs, passive PUPs, 7string, pointy shape, basswood, alder, mahogany, mahogany w/ash top... The only situation when I find owning multiple guitars unnecessary is when one has 15 completely identical LPs with different bursts. But other than that, if you have the funds for it and owning them gives you any sort of pleasure, than there is no such thing as too many. As I think of it, if the previous two conditions are met, even the 15 LPs in different bursts wouldn't be too many...

Re: How many guitars do you own?

:cool2: Old shot of some of my Hamers. 4 of those are gone but trust me they were replaced by more. :)

I always say, some guys have a hot rod, some guys have a boat, others have Ex-wives, me, I got some guitars. As was mentioned above, I have way to many and not enough. :headbang:
