At the moment $350 buying these...

$200

$150 (Seller was asking $190, but he was open to my offer.)

I will spend a little more, but I'm not sure how much as it will depend on what work I do myself and what setup work I have done 'professionally'.

I think I will walk away having paid less than I would have paid for both these guitars when new. Plus maybe a little cash back if I can sell off the remaining body.

Hmmm...

Probably about $1,600. That's for having a custom extra long scale bass neck scratch built, and all the finishing done for me (but wiring, assembly, and setup myself).

A typical AVRI-quality build that I do is generally $1,000–$1,200 or so. That's but completely to my specs out of high quality parts that are the woods I want, the weights I want, and with the finishing process and colors I want.

I'm not sure your estimate is even accurate once you start adding in all the little things that would sit in the misc column - decent pots $7ea, switch $15, knobs $3ea, tuners $80, nut $15, shielding paint $20, do you have the tools to wire it up and do a fret level?, etc.

that said I've spent about $1200 doing a partscaster where the neck itself was $500. If you are getting into it for resale value that is the wrong reason as "CONFIRMED" you will get jack squat out of it other than the experience, which is worth something to some.

Custom costs extra precisely because it is proportionally: unlikely anyone else is going to want your specific set of options and awesome to the owner.

long story long: as your attorney I highly recommend you do it!

The neck im looking at has tuners and locking nut already, its a take off from a usa Charvel pro mod. Misc. stuff I already have most of. only 1 vol control so that saves on pots and knobs!!! Setup and fret work I have under control.

I will take the advice of my aforementioned attorney!!

Might be my forever guitar...only one way to find out I guess!!!
