Blackstar HT-5 Combo, older version. The first thing i remember in the morning was the chasis was hot, like i was playing it for two hours so i thought if it is hot like that, i forgot turn it off last night. but i keep turned on and play for two or three minutes, and it was absolutely normally sounding .then i thought, i can't play on it causeit it is just turned on the whole f.....g night. so i shut it down and play through another amp. now the three hours is amp off. the heat on chasis is gone. i'll probably play it again in the evening, and let you know if it is allright or not. that thing happened to me at first time and the last time too i hope :angryfire sory for my english.

heck it should have been fine to play on
it was just sitting there with an extended warm up time

I have left mine on for weeks at a time

made my power bill kinda high but didnt hurt the amp

I did that once, and a few days later I found one of the power tubes had a core meltdown and fused into a black hole. It looked like this:

But seriously, it shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as the amp was properly ventilated. Consider it some quality burn-in time.

All depends on the amp it seems. I've forgotten and left my Mesa on standby all night several times with no issues. That's what I get for playing late at night. :banghead: Now my friend left his DSL 100 on standby during a 2 set show and it went out halfway between the 2nd set. He had some meltdown going on like DrV mentioned. Needed new power tubes, new socket and ended up getting a computer case type fan installed on the back. I think he's been good since the fan.

Well, it's all right.. today i play for about 3 hours of some heavy stuff, and amp is doing ok. but i hope i'll never do that mistake again.. well the power tube should be ok, but it's about two years alive, so whatever when i'll start hear something unusual, i am gonna replace it.

Leaving a amp on overnight is no big deal. With Tube amps you'll just wear out the tunes faster.

Well, it's all right..

It might be alright for you, but big chunks of ice have dislodged from the polar icecaps and the sea level here in Australia has risen by three feet. All thanks to you.

I think I may be to blame for a portion of that. Last night was chili night. Sorry.

one of the first signs of power tube imminent death is loss of bass.
