If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I'd use an old Dobro Style-O and play some old timey, trippy, bluegrass, bluesy rock :)

I'd plug into a Vibroverb and a good compressor and have LOTS of fun... and get a Korg Triton and learn to play keyboard!

no, the chorus effect is some kind of modelation that looks like COMB FILTER(FLANGER/PHASER)

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I play with a clean tone most of the time so it wouldn't be that big a deal for me. That said, I do enjoy cranking up the overdrive and rocking out on occasion.

Yeah, it's fun to rip a few chords and licks with some drive every once in a while, but clean just sounds neater, more natural, and more professional/pleasing if it's a good player behind the guitar. As I've improved, i have found that it's alot more satisfying to sound great without having distortion all over my notes.

I would be playing the Heaviest Most Unholy Clean Death Metal Ever!

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

90% of my gig is clean tone, so I'd barely notice...

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I would have to go blues or surf unless of course I lived outside the law and used it anyway.

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

I mostly play blues and jazz so it would make to much of a differance to me. But I'd definatly do alot more with my synth.

Re: If distortion was banned somehow, what would you be playing?

Id just use a Univibe i guess, and go clean without the fuzz, and play the usual blues.
