If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

Let's talk about signature guitars, and which ones you'd be most inclined to own.

For those that have and do own signature guitars, go ahead and list them. Tell us why you gravitated toward them as well. Post pics, and this thread will be better.

For me, it would be a tossup between a Fender SRV and a Brian Setzer Gretsch in candy apple red.

It took me a while. But I found it diff to actually think of any signature guitar that I have a GAS for. Does the Music man Axis still Qualify as a signature? I would like that. I would also love a Albert Collins Tele.

There a few I'd like including the Eric Johnson Strat in white

A Bonamassa Gold top

I have owned signature model guitars but not out of any particular desire to emulate the artistes in question.

Epiphone B. B. King Lucille
Fender USA James Burton Telecaster
Flea Bass
Gibson Les Paul x2
Ibanez PGM301 Paul Gilbert
Squier Hank Marvin Stratocaster (UK only model, similar to Silver Series)
"wattage" signature (PRS SE One with a Filter'Tron style pickup)
Yamaha Attitude Custom bass

I waste no time, fantasizing about signature guitars for the sake of the artist associations. They are either good guitars anyway or they are not. At the end of the day, I am still going to sound like me.

If you twisted my arm, I would nominate an ES Thinline of some sort. The USA Lucille, the Summers sig 335 or, perhaps, the Lifeson 355.

A Dora The Explorer Explorer.

btw, I do have my own signature guitars, built from the same piece of wood ...

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I wouldnt mind the chris rea fender,

But yeah i prefer to make something my own.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I've never had a chance to play a robert cray strat but they look interesting. hard tail for the sustain, anyone? nice color choices too imo.

john mayer strat looks interesting too, and I don't mind that scooped sound.

If nothing else a clapton strat with lace sensors seems like it would be a lot of fun.

There are lots of Gibson Custom guitars I wouldn't mind like the Joe Perry LP or the Page #2 but unless I hit the jackpot soon I think gibson's artist models are outta my reach

^^ Funky; you need the outfit as well.

Crusty wins.

As for me, probably this. Nothing else coming to mind.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

The one I know I like is the Clapton Strat, and I'm hazarding a guess I'd like both the Beck & Gilmour Strats too. Aside from those, the one LP that interests me more than most is the Joe Walsh one that has appeared recently. That or a Satriani, a JS1200 rather than one of the 24-fret jobs.

EDIT: And the Paul Kossoff LP too...

I have a Dave Mustaine King V Pro. Does my JEM count as a sig guitar?

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

The May Red Special and the Gilmour Strat would suit me just fine.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

Any Les Paul, Les Paul SG, or Chet Atkins is a signature model, so that covers a huge amount of ground.

As well as many of those, I like and would possibly own the following:

- Jerry Cantrell Rampage (I own one.)
- Wayne Kramer Strat
- Dave Murray Strat
- Eric Clapton Strat (I used to own one. I'd love to get one in Candy Green just for the body.)
- Ritchie Blackmore Strat
- Krist Novoselic RD bass
- Brian May Guitars Red Special in translucent green
- Johnny Marr Jaguar in the tangerine metallic color
- Mikey Way Mustang Bass
- Warren Ellis Eastwood tenor guitar (Musicmaster ripoff)
- Reverend Ron Asheton Volcano
- Lonnie Mack V
- James Jamerson P Bass
- Grace Potter V (with a pickguard change)
- Dethklok Explorer (with a black refin on the top)
- Sammy Hagar Explorer (with a truss rod cover replacement)
- Bill Keliher Explorer (with a pickup change)
- Epi Jack Casady in black
- B.B. King Lucile in green or black
- Tak Matsumoto Double Cut Custom
- Twisted Sister Epi Elitist (pink sunburst)
- Gibson Barney Kessel
- Robby Krieger SG
- Pete Townshend SG
- Epiphone U.S.A. John Lee Hooker Sheraton
- Epiphone U.S.A. "1965" John Lennon Casino
- Lou Pallo Les Paul

...and maybe more, but that's all I can come up with right now.

However, not one of those guitars interests me because I like the artist it's named for. Each interests me because of the guitar it is.

Since I own an EBMM Axis, I'd say that.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

Some sort of Red Special and a Clapton Strat would do nicely thank you very much! :) I'd slap a black scratchplate on the Strat to give it a Gilmour Black Strat look...

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I am a sucker for the Wayne Kramer Stratocaster. It is so ugly it is pretty.

I am also a sucker for the Gibson Peter Green reissue

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

How could I forget the guitar that got me interested in Super Strats and Duncans. BLAZE Vivian Campbell . That interview with the then White snake line up in guitar world Nov 1987 is still fresh in my mind.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

This one. Easily. The Chris Cornell sig. ES-335 in army green with Lollartron pickups. Why? A) it's an ES-335 (which, alongside telecasters are my favorite instruments), B) it's got unique pickups (always wanted to try Lollartrons), C) it's got a great look to it and D) it's the signature guitar of one of my favorite musicians ever. This one takes the cake for me; nothing compares. You guys can have your 15k custom shop Duane Allman Les Pauls - I just want this 3k alternative rock God's axe.

The one I've been most interested in for the longest time has been the Eric Clapton sig. strat in pewter. Why? I hate trems (his is blocked), I like the thought of the versatility with the midboost electronics and the noiseless pickups. All in all, it seems like a strat for guys who don't typically like traditional strats. The soft V profile is one of my favorites as far as Fender profiles go. I think Eric got it right with this one and pewter? That's the classiest freakin' finish ever - LOVE it. My biggest problem is that I always go for strats and never end up keeping them so I don't know if this one would be any different. That and I typically gravitate towards rosewood fretboards - every all maple neck guitar I've ever owned has been pretty "plinky" sounding for lack of a better term.
