Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

If I had to choose from a 'stock' signature guitar. it'd be...

  • Ernie Ball / Music Man EVH (black quilt top);
  • Ibanez JPM 90th Anniversary (blue Picasso layout);
  • Ibanez Universe UV777 (black) and/or Jem 77 (black floral)
  • EVH Frankenstein (the $25000 one!);
  • EVH Wolfgang Stealth;
  • Gibson Les Paul Blackwater;
  • John Suhr Reb Beach model;
  • Ernie Ball / Music Man Steve Morse model (black w/ Floyd);
  • Fender Stratocaster Eric Johnson model;

That'd do. ;-)
But, as I mentioned before, I'd prefer a custom designed guitar (by myself) over any of these...

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I'm kind of kicking myself for not buying the Appetite for Destruction Les Paul. (The normal one, not aged and Murphy-ized one). I just love the way it looks.

Same here. I've owned an 08 Standard, a 2010 LP Traditional, and a 2011 Trad pro, and sold all of 'em. For less than what I spent on 'em I could have had the AFD.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I misunderstood the question on my first post: after some thought I'd take a Malmsteen Fender Strat

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I've got two signature models that I really like: a Fender Ritchie Blackmore (the MIJ model from 1997) and a Fender Yngwie Malmsteen from 2007. I used to own an Ibanez JPM but flipped it about a month or two after I bought it to fund the purchase of the Blackmore.

If I were to get another signature model guitar someday, I'd probably choose a PRS DGT over any other signature model.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I'd go for a carvin holdsworth (have one actually)

An ibanez jpm 90th anniversary (the blue one)

EBMM petrucci (just badass)

If i could only have one it would be the holdsworth.
IMO most signature models are just variations on a standard guitar and thus could be copped by changing pickups and such.

For instance a ibby jpm is not too far off of an RG

An ebmm alvin lee is a reshaped strat.

The holdsworth has a fat alder neck, flat fingerboard, 25.5" scale set neck in an alder semihollow body, straight neck angle like a strat.
It is a guitar with no equivalent. Sorta like the brian may red special.

I always wanted a Alexi Laiho signature ;

but only could afford the LTD one =);

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I would probably get the Taylor Swift signature Taylor. It's almost as awesome as if Debbie Gibson had played Gibsons.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

@Ashurbanipal: The switches are coil split and phase. As I understand it, the Roxy SG is a copy of what he is playing on the cover of Roxy And Elsewhere (great album!). From what I can see, it looks right.

While Sigs aren't my cuppa, I happen to be Stratless at the moment. Am thinking that if I filled that need with a sig guitar, a Robert Cray or Jimmy Vaughn model Strat might do the trick at an entirely reasonable price.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I have to admit that one of these would be pretty badass too:

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

I've got these two. I loved the Cort Matt Guitar Murphy when they first came out
and grabbed the oppotunity when one came up @ $300 with case delivered.
It now has a set of APH-1's in parchment.

The Cort Larry Coryell I grabbed because it was a bargain. It now sports a
set of 59's and Bigsby B6.

Re: If you were to own signature guitars, which would they be?

Can the signature models include ones that *haven't been made yet?

I'd want:
*Scotty Moore ES-295, but in all natural finish with a Bigsby (hmm, maybe that's not signature then?)
Jimmy Page #1 Les Paul
*George Harrison 1964 'Rocky' Strat
Eric Clapton 1960 Bluesbreaker Les Paul
Jimi Hendrix 1967 Monterey Pop Strat
Eric Clapton Layla Strat
*Eric Clapton Cream psychedelic/"Fool" SG
*Keith Richards' 3-pickup psychedelic black Les Paul Custom
*Django Reinhardt Selmer acoustic (there are knock-offs around, but not the 'real thing')
The Guyton version of the Brian May Red Special (I have the normal Red Special, but want a more authentic version)
Harrison/Clapton 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' Les Paul
*Steve Winwood SeaFoam Green Strat
George Harrison Rosewood Telecaster
Tom Scholz Les Paul
*Muddy Waters Les Paul
