Oh Lew, you've just gone and aquired the only 335 colour I'd own and what a beauty. I love it ..... wow.

Re: I'm trading my last Fender 5E3 Deluxe amp for this guitar

Hey Lew,

I honesty think those naturals are the prettiest 335s!

and ... the new ones are something like a $400 upcharge!

as for the 5E3 ... I put a Weber version of a mid 50s P12Q in my Mission Amp, and it sounds better than my '56!

Let me think......an old practice amp or a Gibson ES-335 from the millennium year.

You got the clean end of the stick, me thinks! J/K.

Re: I'm trading my last Fender 5E3 Deluxe amp for this guitar

Oh my lord that's the most beautiful 335 I've ever seen Lew!

Re: I'm trading my last Fender 5E3 Deluxe amp for this guitar

I wasn't going to say this, because it's kind of negative, but I have never really liked any natural finish guitars.

That said, I agree with Curly. After seeing these pictures, if I was to get an es335, I would probably get a naturally finished one. That guitar is just so good looking.

Looks like an even swap to me! If it sounds like it looks, it'll put a spell on you.

Lew,

When I was in college, I worked at L&M Music in Chattanooga, TN. They were a guge Gibson dealer. We had a model like that on in stock. The flame wasn't nearly as nice as on yours though. It was my favorite of all the guitars we had (I hadn't gotten back into Teles yet).

Yep. Plays like a dream too.

I think so too. And I love the pickups in this guitar. They're 57 Classics.

I've always felt that those pickups were under appreciated. Instant Crossroads tone through my little Fender amps.

Curly, you read my mind. Soon as I get a couple of bucks I'm going to ask Bruce to make me custom 5E3 with paper in foil caps and custom trannies. Then I'll put one of my last vintage Celestion/Vox G12 speakers in it. Those are my faves in a tweed Deluxe. Or a real P12Q. Lew

That's a beauty. It looks just like one a buddy of mine has. His looks, plays, and sounds great as well.

Wow, that flame maple body looks just awesome! Congrats!

I'm glad I don't jibe with 335s, because I could see myself wanting to drop major cash on one.

That one looks just perfect Lew! :) The natural and black finish ES-335s are my favorites; there's such an understated, classy look to them.
