I find the 5 way rotary very tough to use live on the spot. If I need to quickly go from a dirty bridge tone to the middle or one of the middle positions played clean, it is touch to do fast live. I love the tones of series/parallel switching on the PRS, the sounds are nice. I just don't use them in the same songs with songs in which I use humbuckers. I just want to use it like my other guitars, beaing able to switch to the middle or neck for clean.
One problem I see though is the noise with the triple shot since unlike the PRS system, you don't have the hum cancelling.
I may actually try to leave it stock and just installmy new pickups whick are Guitar Force pickups. The owner said he follows the same wiring scheme as Duncan so he referred me to their site. I am assuming I could just install his pickup with the magnet flipped and be good to go.
However, which PRS diagram does one use for a 1994 CE-22? There are two PRS diagrams.
Dr. Newcenstein? What type of rotary do you have - just a knob like a PRS speed knob? That is what I have. How long did it take you to get good at changing positions with that thing?
Thanks.
