I guess they're rated at 30 watts. What does this mean in reality? Can the speaker handle 50 watts or is there a chance I could damage it?
YUP ! It would be O.K. at low practice volume's. But at gig volume... It'sSoCalSteve said:I guess they're rated at 30 watts. What does this mean in reality? Can the speaker handle 50 watts or is there a chance I could damage it?

Or would I want to run 2x 50watt speakers?

So I replaced it with a G12M-25 and played that amp like that for the next twenty years. Played it loud too..often with a Tube Screamer pushing the heck out of it! Anyways, that's a 40 watt amp and I never had any trouble with that Celestion. In fact, that's the amp that got me into mixing speakers. Lew
