Is it a sin to run a 58 Reissue Lester thru a solid state modeling amp?

Couldn't they just make a strat model or a les paul model in the preamp and you could just plug in a rondo?

Line 6 has modeling guitars.

The new models have real pickups in them. The older ones were cheaper. I think $400 for the cheapest one. I think they all go for over $1,000 now.

Would probably be cooler if they just put that technology into the amps themselves. Plug in a ukulele with a soundhole pup and sound like Jimmy Page with the turn of a dial. Would be the best thing ever, wouldn't it? :chairfall

I think they have to put more into the guitar itself for the concept to gain wider acceptance. What they're doing now probably goes over better with a lot of players than $400 worth of modeling in a $300 guitar.

Besides, if you want the guitar modeling portion to work properly, you have to start with known parameters, ie, their guitar.

I'm guilty of playing my 58RI through a solidstate amp (Cube 60) as well. lol :) Not so much anymore since I got my Roadster though (always used RFIER mode on the Cubes). Having said that, now that I have a real Mesa I don't have much need for the cube other than for it's headphone feature.

Rock n Roll is all about sin.

they have a modeler that allows you to plug in headphones
and hear Page playing

I have one of those, it's called an ipod. Can't figure out how to plug in the guitar, but it seems to bluetooth over to the ipod. I sound fanstastic!

Weird. You must have a different model. I've looked all through my iPod and I don't see any Led Zeppelin anywhere.

FWIW Les Paul plugged his Les Paul into a ss amp for a while. (Did that sound dirty to anyone else?)

Scott - How can a manufacturer of high quality tube amps ask a question on solid state junk, I mean amps?

Re: Is it a sin to run a 58 Reissue Lester thru a solid state modeling amp?

it is only a sin to not play the Les Paul at all

Re: Is it a sin to run a 58 Reissue Lester thru a solid state modeling amp?

I use a modeler most of the time (Axe-fx). With Fender CS and Suhrs, too.

I'm going to hell.... :-)

Heheheh…

I use an Eleven Rack and a Line6 HD500 for fun.

Real tube amps when I want to impress!

It's a sin not to practice. Honestly, the more I play my Fender Mustang, the more I love it. If I had a super expensive, custom guitar, I wouldn't hesitate plugging into it for practice sake.

I thought I heard that Billy Gibbons for a while used to plug his Les Paul into some Marshall solid state amps (the little practice ones) to get a good studio tone in the 80's

The Mustang III has quieted my tube amps for the last few weeks. Mostly cuz I'm goofing around with a gob of FX and screwing around with a new toy.

I'm also working up the Wallace amp right now. Should prove to be fun.

Y'all do realize this thread was supposed to be funny... missed the mark I guess....

Is it a sin to plug an Agile into an SLO-100?
