Is This A Good Deal?

Re: Is This A Good Deal?

Theres way to many used PTP amps out there, for a better price, to even consider spending that much on a mass produced modern amp. Just my opinon though.
Really? Considering its BB's thread i.e. the dude is looking for some juice in the pre-amp, give an example, I am not being sarchastic, I am interested myself.

Basically any of the Rivera designed Fender's from the early 80's can be had for less than $600. They have a clean channel that'll give you a very nice Clean (not quite as nice as a BF fender, but very close). And a Dirty channel that will do anything from a Slightly dirty blues, AC/DC style rhythm Crunch, to a Really pushed/distorted 80's metal tone (if you have the mid-boost switch pulled). Toss an OD/Boost in there, and you've got a nice Clean, a dirty rhythm, and a lead sound.
They're PTP amp's, with a tube driven FX loop, 2 channels, Classic fender cleans, a dirty channel that'll Get you a great Low gain sound, all the way up to a Medium-heavy dirty sound, not to mention classic fender reverb. With a Od or booster (or a distortion used as a booster), they've got enough versatility to cover most peoples bases.

I had a river knucklehead for a few days at my house. Didn't care too much for the distortion, and this dude is way pickier than I. I'm also sure the knucklehead has way more juice than the fender.
