No, there's stockholders.

Stockholders, and marketing, and overhead, and buildings, utilities, environmental regulations, taxes, legal, paperclips… The kind of stuff that most companies have to spend money on. Anyone who thinks a guitar should have anything close to its retail price worth of parts in it, is delusional.

Gibson is not for musicans its more for investment players who think they will retire on their collection. Keep em I say, old people need retirement funds let Gibson deliver them.

The other possibility I believe Gibson might be doing is leaking really horrific misinformation about price increases so that when they reveal their real price increases, everyone will feel 'relieved' and accept the real price gouging they planned all along.

i gotta say, the price is the least of my issues with the new crop of gibsons. i don't understand why they just can't make a nice les paul. new fonts for the logo, metal zero frets, self tuning...it's like drawing a moustache on the mona lisa.

I'm surprised they aren't more actively disenfranchising customers by sponsoring famine, or pestilence. Gibson USA everybody.
