KEA's Guitar Building Thread

Re: KEA's Guitar Building Thread

Been doing a TON of woodwork on these. But not any real progress, since i am doing so much of the early process of multiple builds all at once. Here are some neck blanks.

I have one neck much further along, which is now in clamps with the fretboard.
I am going out of town for 5 days on an elk hunt, so no progress this weekend.

Your explorer body shape is ridiculously sexy.

I want one and can't afford it right now. damn youuuuuuuuuu!!!

Re: KEA's Guitar Building Thread

Yep, I hate teeny bopper candy coated quilt top crap, and exotic woods usually don't impress me, but I love this style, the black especially.

If I had money I'd be a buyer for sure. You got a website man?

Re: KEA's Guitar Building Thread

Been meaning to ask - are you inspired by Ken Lawrence?

How's the Rhoads coming along?

Re: KEA's Guitar Building Thread

Thanks guys.
Ashur,
Yes, Ken was one of my biggest influences since i started building.
The rhoads is done, as it stands in the upper pictures. A lot of the time i sell guitars with no hardware. Gives the customer more options, and turn around time is quicker.
That one was a custom order. Going to a guy in new york here pretty soon.

Not my style of guitars for the most part but the craftsmanship looks amazing and i have to say, the finished product looks darn sexy.
