Anyone have any info or thoughts. I'ts supposed to come out this month. 12" radius neck w/ jumbo frets, prestrung with 10s, & custom pups. Sounds like a pretty good blues machine. I'm assuming this is MIJ?

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

Saw them on the Fender website- meh, I can think of about 5 different sig strats I'd rather have before that one (I don't like the paint jobs).

That said, I don't think any of the Fender sigs are MIMs, they are all MIA (or MIJ for that market)

Yeah yeah, I've heard your distaste for Fender sunburst...LOL. For me, it depends on how the SB is done. For example, I cannot stand the SB on MIM Strats, but I love it on MIA Strats.

The Jimmy Vaughan Strat is MIM and so is the KWS.

Not the bursts, those other silly finishes (though, yeah I abhor Fender Sunbursts).

Ahhh right. I forgot about those. I guess if you are only kinda famous, or your brother was, then you get a MIM sig strat- all the big boys get the MIA versions :laugh2:

The story I read from JV was that he wanted his sig to be affordable to anybody and so he worked with Fender to make it in the Ensenada plant instead.

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

Meh. Its hard for me to get that excited about a new strat. they all seem the same to me now with just minor modifications that anyone can do themselves.

But my explanation is more fun :D

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

$699 is not a terrible price...

and when they start showing up used...they will have an even better price!? :naughty:

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

The SB on the KWS actually is one of the better looking MIM SB's I've seen.

This is my favorite SB in the Artist line.

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

I wouldn't mind having the neck off that KWS model- thick C, 12" radius, bone nut, and jumbos.

Thats a good price for all those non- standard options (also the graphtec saddles and "custom" pickups)

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

That's a really good deal. I'll be checking it out just to feel how it plays.

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

i'll have to check these out... as far as MIM signature strats the Vaughn has so far been the best.. this one should be interesting to see

that's definitely what i'm thinking too about the upgrades on this...

Re: Kenny Wayne Shepherd STRAT

I'm still waiting for a Fender sig that isn't pretty much a 57 or 62 strat with some mods...

Where have you been? The Jeff Beck Strat is exactly that. It started out as the Strat Plus before Beck wanted his sig to be just like it.
