Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Just got mine. Might be a bit before I can get them installed, I somehow have to juggle my leaking roof and being at work all the time over the next couple days. I hate being federal emergency response personnel. I hate it so, so much.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Vintage strat block installed. Haven't gotten around to doing the "after" comparison clips, but its a nice difference even unplugged. This guitar was a little on the acoustically dead side before, but now you can feel it resonate pretty awesomely. Can't wait to see how the clips compare.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Anyone have any input yet? Have all of the #1's received their blocks? What do you guys think? Really looking forward to all your thoughts!

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Once I get my clips for the Floyd block finished, I'll upload both the Floyd & vintage blocks as well as my reviews for them.

All I'll say now is I really really want to win the block lotto at the end.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

If there's still some slots, I have a wilkinson steel setup in my mutt strat. I'll have to get some specific measurements, to be sure, but I think it's vintage spec. I loved what that did over the zinc piece of garbage that was in it. I'd love to see what this block does.

Let me know cuz we could really use another vintage spec block tester. Our other guy backed out!

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

just got back into town, ill be sending 'my' blocks down the line in a day or two.

ill write up reviews when i catch up but they sound great. i was able to compare one to a callaham steel block and one to a cheaper zinc block.

It's a vintage spec bridge, so,add me to the list. Whomever needs to send the block, PM for my contact info. I'll put together a clip comparison, and some specific observations from playing.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

That'd be me.

Anyhow, just finally made my "after" clips with the floyd block last night, which is timed up perfectly because its a week today that I've had the block. So its now on its way to dirtbagg.

I'll post my clips/review either tonight or tomorrow.

Good deal - looking forward to seeing if my Strat can go from "ugh, I don't want to play it," to "hey! my Strat!"

I have been picking other guitars out of my rack for over a year now - even though my Strat is set up beautifully. It just sounds like it doesn't want to give me much.

Part of that is the "Strat vibe," where you gotta work to get something good out of it, but as a Tele player (and convert), I know what that's about --- plus, I've had this Strat for 15 years and it was my main gigging axe from 1999 until 2005. It's not like I don't "know" Strats, or this one, in particular.

Maybe the big brass block will coax it into "giving it up" a little more.

I will record clips before and after, not changing the amp settings or the mic placement at all - we'll see if the SDUGF can hear a difference in the recorded / amplified tone!

Thanks again to KGC, it will be fun for all of us.

I'm on the list for the vintage block, so I'll do the same, before and after clip and review.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Wow, I forgot to write up my review again last night. Gonna try for tonight.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

Who is the next contestant?

I have the block ready to ship.

Re: Killer Guitar Components Trem block BETA testing.

I just want to give everyone a heads up. I'm probably not going to be around much over the next 6 or 8 weeks. Bow hunting season for dear opens here this Saturday and moves right on from bow to rifle season. I've spent a lot of time and money on my hunting gear this season and I plan to take full advantage of it.

I'll still check in daily, but if I don't answer your PMs in the same day, don't think anything of it. I'll try and get back to you as soon as possible.

Looking at the chart on the first page, it appears BloodRose gets it next. Then he'd send it to SrDeMaFp.
