Yesterday I was e mailing back and forth with one of the techs from Dimarzio. They all just got back from NAMM and I'm sure they were playing catch up with e mails etc...
Anyway....I told the tech about the problem I was having with the VPAF Neck pickup and that I had it dialed in alot better...He was giving me some cool info, like cutting the screws shorter will make the pickup a bit brighter and less boomy(I Knew about this trick as it removes Eddy currents)...He then was telling me where to adjust the low E side of the pickup,he told me if I cut the screws and didn't like it,that he'd send me new screws....Recommended either the Air Classic or the EJ neck, but he said the EJ neck was brighter and maybe thinner...
I asked him if they'd still swap me pickups after I tryed shortening the screws and he said as long as the pickup wasn't damaged.....I got like 6 informative e mails in a row within minutes about the concerns I had with my new pickup...Their hours are 9 to 5 and here it was close to 6 pm and I'm still getting help and questions answered from one of their techs...Very cool indeed!
The tech was great(Reminded me of Scott Miller)who is another tech I Love speaking with...
Just wanted to give some credit to the "other" guys....Many years ago my experiences with Dimarzio were alot different...Glad to see all that has changed....I need to get the techs name, cause he's really great!
Please no DMZ bashing cause the tech I spoke with surely doesn't deserve it!
